This week back in 2002, “Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue” hit #1 on the Billboard Country Chart. Earlier this month, the song re-entered the charts and became Toby’s highest ever charting song on the Billboard 100…24 years later!

A happy heavenly birthday to @TobyKeith. He and Dad were both outspoken patriots and both of their voices, music and love for our nation are sorely missed. Happy Heavenly Birthday, Toby. RIP. - CD Jr. *Photo taken at the 1999 @ACMawards, also pictured @bryan_white and @mgunderground - TeamCDB

Toby Keith Covel was born in Clinton, Oklahoma, on this day in 1961. He went on to become one of country music's greatest stars, bringing us unforgettable hits such as "Should've Been a Cowboy," "American Soldier," "Courtesty of the Red, White and Blue," and "How Do You Like Me Now?!" Toby was known for his skillful songwriting, philanthropy, patriotism, and devotion to his family. He passed away in 2024 after a years-long battle with stomach cancer. He would have turned 65 today. 💔
