Production workers at Walt Disney Animation Studios have ratified their first union contract with the Animation Guild, increasing benefits and raising wages up to 35%.
The contract provides for production workers to receive protections including pension and health benefits.

This is an invisible cost in our industry that outsiders don't realize. The most successful artists in animation are those who spend a lot of time outside of work doing MORE work - personal & freelance. People will work an extra 10-20 hrs/wk, just to stay visible & relevant
