If we want to better the state of animal welfare in this world, we need to stop shaming every person who rehomes or surrenders their pet I would rather someone realize they cannot give an animal the care they need and attempt to find it a better life, than let it suffer

I dunno who has to hear this but just because you are not chosen to DJ a con, does NOT necessarily mean you're not good enough, or that your skill is called into question. There is always room for improvement, but DJing is competitive.. just don't forget it's meant to be fun!

What's worse is that social media is now the gatekeeper to content (both for browsing & indexing). The internet used to be democratic--the best content would rise to the top. Now it's a weird amalgam of paid corporate promotion, luck and inconsistent algorithms

Been on the internet since 1999 and it’s never been this bad. Google is useless, once findable information is deleted or buried. Wanton cruelty and sadism used to be contained to places like 4chan now it’s every social media site. Ubiquitous AI imagery is deeply unpleasant to see

This morning, I learned the much loved & cherished resident snow leopard of @CheyenneMtnZoo recently passed. In memory, I share one of my favorite photos I've taken of him, from 1-9-18. Bhutan was the very best snow leopard. May he have all the taco seasoning he could ever want.
