I also really want us as educators who presumably care about the children in front of us to consider what we are doing when we insist on using something that is using the energy output of entire countries given how that further endangers those same children’s future.

It is fair to say that renters are not represented on the Worcester City Council. I mean, when you have people literally die, and the Council’s response is “this basic provision done by many other cities is too hard,” I don’t know that there is another way to frame it.
Two years after voting 11-0 to create a rental registry, the city council voted 9-2 tonight to make it useless 👍

Four of the councilors are landlords with rental properties in Worcester. As an owner occupied landlord of a two family building, Colorio effectively voted to exempt herself from the registry. Moot point bc the vote was 9-2 although the actual ordinance change might need 2/3 ?
Replying to @CommonTalkPod
Hank: Did you listen to the people or were there rooting interests from Councilors who are landlords or in real estate? Petty dismisses that & thinks it's unfair, "I'm not going to listen to that." He said you can be on any side of the issue but it's not fair to question motives

And even some non-profits in Massachusetts 👀
And some charter school operators managed to similarly prop up their churches with pass-throughs, leases, etc.
