Frankfurt is a weird time for writers; it can feel like everyone is getting 6 figure deals (they’re not!). To do something for those who aren’t yet at that stage, I’m offering a free critique of your first 10k words & synopsis (fiction only) - to enter RT by midnight Sat! 📚✍️

Most refugees can't access safe routes under the UK's broken immigration rules.
This is why we're calling for #RoutesToSafety to be created urgently.

Lost for 80 years, now - a bible belonging to a 13 year old boy, murdered at Auschwitz, has become the only tangible link to his existence. @DovForman meets the Hungarian antique book dealer who found it, and brings the book back to London, to Bela's older sister Lily. 🇭🇺✈️🇬🇧

This week I travelled to Hungary, to pick up a Jewish bible that belonged to my great grandma’s brother, Bela - murdered in Auschwitz, aged 13.
Today, visiting Lily in hospital, I handed her his bible, with his signature inside, the only link we have to Bela’s existence.

So excited to see #TheLowRoad, my debut novel, in the window of @gaystheword. Thanks to Erica and Jim for a warm welcome. If you like gritty, sapphic historical fiction from the 1800s this one might be for you:)

Author @KatharineQ searched high and low through different archives to find this picture of the Refuge for the Destitute in Hackney, where the two main protagonists of her novel #TheLowRoad met in real life in 1820.

This Saturday 1 July 1-2pm at @jubilee_gardens on London’s South Bank, remember the volunteers who fought fascism in Spain from 1936-39. ‘Their example inspired the world.’ Songs, tributes and flowers. ¡No pasarán!
