Men really don’t care that they be scaring the hoes. Like I get that you never saw your dad and see him be flirtatious with your mom but please learn how to be charming from somebody. Goddamn.
Imagine realizing 50 years later that being surveilled used to be a bad thing.
In the final years of his life, Ernest Hemingway tried to convince friends and family that the FBI was following him, but they just told him he was paranoid.
In late 1960, he was admitted to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, where he received electroshock therapy. Even there, he refused to speak freely, convinced someone was listening.
In July 1961, Hemingway died by suicide at his home in Idaho.
Years after he died, the FBI released files showing that they had been monitoring him for the last 20 years of his life.
Ain’t nobody funnier than Mona but she absolutely has a point
MONA ADDRESSES CARDI B CONTROVERSY, SAYS COLORISM PLAYS A ROLE IN SUCCESS
Cardi B argued that some people don't get opportunities because they aren't smart enough to market themselves and sell themselves in important rooms.
Mona: “I just thought she was so wrong about it.”
“Cardi is very talented, Cardi better than a lot of people.”
“But If there was a girl that did exactly what I did, and she was big and Black, I can't say that she would make it where I make it.”
“I know part of the reason why I made it here is because I have the complexion for the connection. That's my belief.”

My dad was so loving and respectful to other groups in that he NEVER preached hatred or xenophobia. Not once in my life did I ever hear him utter a word of negativity about any group except white people. Even then he made the distinction that it was white racists.

There are so many immigrant stories about having to compete with Americans to make their parents proud. To outshine Americans. To not be ghetto or brash like Americans. How is competing with another group a part of your core story? How does my existence affect your identity?

I had a really close friend who was Haitian growing up. We were close for much of middle school, throughout high school, college and post college. I hadn’t seen her in a while because I was going through a lot after college and was really focused on getting my life in order

So the Miami Herald allowed their JAMAICAN writer ROSHAE HEMMINGS to published the racist, xenophobic, tribalistic video posted by another Jamaican woman about the “behaviors” of Black Americans in her shack, I mean villa. If we don’t get on par with boycotting these companies

This "social cleansing" in the Dominican Republic has me sick. I need to stop reading the comments in these articles.

The Dominican government has refused to accept Haitian refugees.
I feel like this should be talked about a lot more.
This week, Dominican authorities reported finding the bodies of at least four women near the Dominican-Haitian border. All four had been deported by the U.S. government from Puerto Rico to Haiti.
Haiti continues to be plagued by unprecedented gang violence following the assassination of its president and the collapse of its government. Women and girls there face a growing risk of gender-based violence, with many living in displacement camps. This has been happening to women in Haiti for years, the victim in this photo Anise Boisrond was decapitated and dismembered in November 2020 at the beginning of the most recent destabilization.
The Dominican government has refused to accept Haitian refugees, stating that the United Nations and the international community have failed to help cover the cost of their care.
Similarly, the United States has stopped accepting Haitian refugees and has attempted to deport those living here legally. This week, a federal judge blocked the Trump administration from ending the Temporary Protected Status program for 350,000 Haitians living in the U.S.
Judge Ana Reyes said the government hadn’t even attempted to determine whether these Haitian nationals could safely return to their country.
*Victim photographed is one of the many women murdered in this way but is not one of the latest victims — they’re not identities have not been released*
