I’m joining the team at @X to lead Product. I am a huge believer in @SpaceX's mission to extend human consciousness to the stars, so it’s time to make shitposting multiplanetary. X is the best way to find out what’s happening in the world right now and talk about it. The team has been working tirelessly to make X a better place and product for the people who love it, and many have noticed the recent momentum. My goal is to help accelerate that momentum for our community, new users, and businesses globally by continuing to make this product beautiful and useful. We are twenty years in, but it truly feels like X’s next chapter will be our greatest. I look forward to your ideas and feedback; I’m sure the replies will be measured and magnanimous.

Rereading is one of the worst ways to study: In a 1917 study, grade school kids read biographies. One group read and reread them over and over. The other group read them once, then tested themselves by pulling the details back to mind: who the person was, what they did, when. The kids who read once and self-tested vastly outperformed the rereaders, both on how much they recalled and on how accurate it was. Testing yourself isn't how you check what you learned. It's how you learn it. @hubermanlab

Today, on America’s 250th birthday, Susan and I are celebrating by giving $250 each to the first 25 million qualifying American children who sign up for their @InvestAmerica24 @TrumpAccounts. This makes every child a shareholder in the greatest prosperity-creating engine the world has ever known — American capitalism. Through this public-private partnership, we’re giving the next generation a real stake in our economy and a path to the American Dream: education, a first home, starting a business, and building lasting wealth. It unites us all in hope and optimism for every child’s future. Happy 250th Birthday, America! 🇺🇸 trumpaccounts.gov/

Cathie Wood just explained why the establishment will never stop coming for Elon Musk. And the reason is worse than they think. Wood: “Tesla was an environmental move, which I think a lot of people attacking his cars… they’ve forgotten.” They didn’t forget. You don’t forget thirty years of marching and petitioning and begging for the machine that saves the planet. Someone built it. Forced every automaker on Earth to follow. Then they turned on him the moment he delivered exactly what they asked for. Not because he failed them. Because he made them unnecessary. A solved problem is an existential threat to every institution built to solve it. Kills the funding. Kills the committee. Kills every career that exists to manage the crisis rather than end it. Wood: “I think he’s the Thomas Edison of our age… he wants to do the right thing to transform the lot of most of humanity.” Edison was hated too. By the people who sold candles. Every revolution looks like an attack to the people it makes obsolete. Wood: “What we learn about material science and technologies… is going to help us here on Earth as well.” SpaceX is not an escape. It is a forge. Build under the most brutal conditions in the solar system and every breakthrough comes home. Most people at his level stop building and start protecting what they have. Musk picks the hardest unsolved problem on Earth and runs straight at it. That is not what terrifies them. What terrifies them is he does it without their funding, without their approval, without a single thing they can hold over his head. A man you cannot buy is a man you cannot control. And a man you cannot control who keeps solving the problems you profit from is the most dangerous human alive. They will spend their careers trying to tear him down. Their grandchildren will live in the world he built anyway.

Out-of-state special interests and their union allies are trying to take educational scholarships away from the children of Arizona’s military families. That is why today, we are proud to launch Protect Military Families PAC @ProtectMilFam. Our mission is simple: keep Arizona’s promises to the families who have served our country by protecting their children’s education scholarships. Read our announcement below. 🇺🇸

Over the past week, I've heard from Arizona families, grassroots activists, and Republican leaders about the importance of protecting school choice and educational freedom for all Arizonans. They want to see their leaders stand up and fight for the 100,000 Arizona students that use ESAs. I stand united with Republican leadership in our belief that a 1:1 deal, which removes HCR2040 and the anti-school choice initiative from the ballot, is the fairest way to move forward for all Arizonans.
I will always fight to protect school choice. To that end, I support the Biggs plan for a one-for-one ballot measure exchange - if the teachers union drops their anti-ESA measure, the Senate will repeal HCR 2040. Short of this, I see little chance of a special session. I trust parents to make the right decision for their child’s education, not government bureaucrats. The filing deadline is Wednesday.

"The share of men in their prime family-building years (25-45) who are fathers has fallen from two-thirds in 1980 to 53% in 2024. This means almost 1 in 2 men in this group are not dads. It also means the # of men (25-45) who are childless has risen from 10 million in 1980 to 23 million in 2024, a record high."

Should those be banned or limited too, even though students use them for their learning? Small schools are growing faster than finance systems know how to support them. The answer isn’t to standardize the schools. It’s to standardize the information lenders need. Grateful to talk with @rickhess99 in @educationweek about The Lending Lab: edweek.org/policy-politics/o…

True. Important read on university education.
⚡️The American university system is the largest wealth transfer from the young to the old in human history and nobody frames it that way because the people who benefit from it control the framing. Eighteen year olds who can’t legally buy a beer are signing six figure debt obligations to institutions that face zero accountability for outcomes. The loan is non-dischargeable in bankruptcy. The university gets paid regardless of whether the student gets a job. The incentive structure is pure extraction. Get them in. Get the money. What happens after is their problem. 43% underemployment isn’t a failure of the students. These kids did exactly what they were told. Study hard. Get good grades. Go to college. Get the degree. They followed the script perfectly and the script was a lie. Not a lie that anyone intended maliciously at first. But a lie that became profitable enough that nobody corrected it even after the data made it obvious. The people who designed this system, the administrators pulling $500k salaries, the tenured professors teaching subjects with zero market application, the loan servicers collecting interest on degrees in fields that haven’t produced a living wage in twenty years. None of them are underemployed. They’re doing fine. The 43% is subsidizing their comfort. Now add AI. The entry level professional jobs that justified the debt are the first ones being compressed. Not blue collar work. Not trades. The exact white collar knowledge work positions that the degree was supposed to unlock. Legal research. Financial analysis. Consulting grunt work. Content production. The 43% who are already underemployed are about to be joined by a significant chunk of the 57% who thought they made it. The people who will come through this are the ones who figured out early that the credential was a trap. The ones who built skills instead of collecting letters after their name. The ones who found asymmetric paths. The ones who created value directly instead of waiting for an institution to certify them as valuable. The university system had a real function once. It produced genuine education and genuine opportunity. That function has been hollowed out by decades of misaligned incentives until what remains is mostly a financing operation that happens to have classrooms attached. And 43% of its recent customers just confirmed with their own lives that the product doesn’t work.
