A couple notes about Dick Jauron -- he offered brief remarks to reporters just after he was fired, and then said "I'm actually more empowered today than I was, because I'm no longer obligated to answer your questions." He gave a warm smile and left.

Yale Football lost a legend today. Their was no finer man and no greater Bulldog than Dick Jauron. The legacy he left will be felt forever.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Jauron family during this difficult time.
We will miss you my friend.

Dick Jauron was a Hall of Fame human being who possessed integrity, intelligence, humility and a great dry sense of humor. One of the best people I’ve ever known.

So sorry to hear this! Dick was definitely one of the best athletes to play for the Big Blue and an even better person. Rest in Pease! @sps01907

Rest In Peace Dick Jauron.
Jauron was the 12th Head Coach in Bears History.
During the 2001 Season, while America was devastated by the sadistic attacks on 9/11 - Jauron helped keep Chicagoans minds on something positive, by leading the Bears to a 13-3 record.
The Bears Won their Division and Jauron was named Coach Of The Year.
We'll miss you Coach.
#ChicagoHistory forever.
