Going without essentials takes a toll on every part of life. Among people who had to cut back on food to afford other essentials like rent and bills: 💭 81% said financial pressures harmed their mental health 💊 61% said their physical health was affected 💜 56% said their relationships were affected Ahead of the Budget, urgent action is needed to make essentials affordable. The first step should be bringing local housing allowance in line with what rent actually costs. Email the Prime Minister using our simple tool here: action.trussell.org.uk/local…

Hunger in the UK isn’t about access to food, it’s about income. People literally don’t have enough money to live on, bills, rent and fuel have skyrocketed, jobs don’t pay enough, and Universal Credit is just a measly £98 a week. #WorldFoodDay

Here’s another unexpected twist arising from my stem cell transplant. We hosted a “space” on here a few years back. At the end of the conversation I mentioned that this felt like a good podcast. The amazing @ginny_walker picked up the batton and @magicalmatchpod was born 💙
Over the next few weeks, ahead of @Everton v @ChelseaFC please look out for our tweets explaining how my stem cells saved the life of a Chelsea fan, and changed my life forever. 💙

Universal Credit doesn't know the price of a pint of milk. Or a weekly food shop. Or a heating bill. Leaving millions without enough to survive and forced to turn to food banks. 🫸 The UK gov has the chance to change this. We're calling for Universal Credit to be set based on actual living costs.

The storm didn't move Jesus; Jesus moved the storm. But He slept through it first to show the disciples that the storm doesn't have the final say.

Things that shouldn't exist: - Energy bills people can't afford. - Rents rising faster than wages. - Food banks.

£84.65. That’s the amount someone under 25 on Universal Credit receives a week. To cover food, bills, and everything else. Not enough? Exactly.

You don’t have to be a #Celebrity or a #Traitor to become a lifesaver in waiting. Just join the stem cell register 💙 Link in bio #CelebrityTraitors

If you’re between 16 & 55 then you may well be eligible to join the @AnthonyNolan or @DKMS_uk stem cell registers. Odds are, you’ll never be a match, but just imagine if you were 😍 You could help save a life by doing very little tbh. We’d love everyone to RT to spread the word
Thanks to the @Everton PR team for reaching out for peice they’re producing ahead of the @ChelseaFC game. There’ll be an update from @Register4Ronnie & I spoke about the donor registration process for @AnthonyNolan and @DKMS_uk stem cell registers 💙 Only takes 1 to save a life!
