This year #worldpatientsafetyday2025 urged us to focus on safe care for every newborn and every child. It was a great honour to work with the @patsafetyuhdb to develop the agenda for our patient safety conference.
Massive thanks to all our presenters who took us on the journey from womb through the neonatal and paediatric pathways and ultimately transition to adult services.
So proud of our #neonatal team embracing this change to improve safety for all the babies in our care 😀

So proud of our amazing @UHDBTrust #neonatal team for all the work they do supporting this precious little fighters and their families💜💜💜
Today is #WorldPrematurityDay
Globally, 1 in 10 of all babies are born preterm - before 37 weeks of pregnancy - and complications relating to prematurity are now the leading cause of child death.
There is an urgent need to ensure quality care for all babies born early or small, alongside efforts to reduce risks of preterm birth bit.ly/3CpTJDO

Our lovely work colleague tragically lost her husband 3 months ago.During his final moments in @nottmhospitals QMC site, his wedding band went missing which has such huge sentimental value & would be such a comfort to find it.We would so love to be able to reconnect her with it.
Great to see so many potential candidates at the #neonatal transitional care recruitment day today. @UHDBTrust

It's important to us that we recognise our staff. If you have an experience you wish to share with us here are some ways you can:
To nominate a team or staff member as your Patient Hero, visit: bit.ly/4e8tx4N where you can tell us why they should be recognised (1/2)

Childhood poverty is a political choice.
New @ONS data shows mortality rates for infants in the most deprived areas of England are almost 3 times higher than the least deprived.
We can, and must turn these devastating statistics around. Poverty is not an inevitability.

ALT This harrowing data set confirms what paediatricians have been saying for many years now – poverty is very often a matter of life and death...We urge all political parties to make tackling child poverty a key manifesto commitment so every child, regardless of their background, can grow up to reach their full potential. Really looking forward to this day, would love to see local colleagues from across @EMNODN join us.
If you don’t have the booking link and would like it drop me a line 😊
