network engineering isn't saturated, because it's not generally a high-paying career. many IT support staff also perform network engineering duties. before the boom in remote jobs and $ roles, network engineering was pretty common in nigeria. i was even advised to learn network engineering back in 2017, before software engineering became mainstream.
A very nerdy and crazy nitch, had interest few years back.

My first article for Praxians, our philosophy column at Zeitgeist Now @thezeitgeistnow. “If we Africans care about progress at a foundational level, we cannot hope to leapfrog into prosperity without first building and sustaining the intellectual cradles of our societies, testing and improving the ideas they spread, and aiming those ideas squarely at the advancement of our people. In developing nations, investing heavily in ideas and the knowledge economy cannot be an aristocratic luxury because ideas are quite literally the golden tickets out of poverty.” Read more 🫶⬇️
Iyefu Okwoli introduces her column, Praxians, with the article "The Primacy of Ideas". In it she outlines the philosophy that animates our work, which is the recognition of the primacy of ideas.

Intent Classification >>> I have been working on this for over a year under the guidance of @bigbrutha_ Check out: Ladder | Your AI-powered financial assistant share.google/HT1mV0HJAT1eYx5…
Last week in Cologne I showed how you can use the GitHub Copilot App and Foundry to build an agent you can deploy across Teams, Outlook or an app of your choice. I also showed how you can integrate our new Decision 1 model for intent classification. I'm interested in agents that can recognise intent and then take action independetly if they decide they can be helpful, so this was fun to show!

The reason most of you deleted the things you said about this skit after finding out it was actually a skit is that you weren’t attacking what he did. You were attacking him. What he did, if it had been real, would have been terribly rude and disrespectful. But some of you were waiting for Eric to misstep so you could finally tell everybody, “I’ve always known this guy is a horrible person” The things he says and stands for feel like an attack on you because you know you’re doing the wrong thing, and he’s always speaking against it. So you were waiting with bated breath for him to mess up, just so you could say “See? I’ve always known he’s no saint” People who were genuinely open-minded watched it and thought he was playing. They gave him the benefit of the doubt because they weren’t desperate to find a reason to condemn him. Anyway, this girl is such a good actor. Far better than a lot of the Nollywood actors making movies on YouTube.
You no go love BC ke?😩😅😅 See you in Nairobi guys!❤️🔥

Every fucking time NEPA takes the light, I get unnecessarily worried. Network is terrible, electricity is unstable. I hate this place.

🌡️UNDERSTANDING THE SEASONAL TRANSITION As Nigeria transitions from the rainy to the dry season, hotter days and increased heat discomfort may occur because rainfall patterns change, cloud cover decreases, and wind systems shift. •Less rainfall and reduced cloud cover allow more sunlight to heat the Earth's surface, leading to hotter days. •High humidity can intensify the heat, limiting the body's ability to cool itself through sweating. Understanding this transition is essential to protecting public health, sustaining livelihoods, and preparing sectors for changing weather conditions. 🥵 HOW CAN THE TRANSITION AFFECT YOU? •Dehydration: Excessive loss of body fluids, especially during prolonged exposure to heat. •Heat exhaustion: Symptoms may include unusual weakness, dizziness, headaches, nausea, and heavy sweating. •Dust and Haze: May irritate the eyes and respiratory tract, causing coughing, sneezing, and breathing difficulties, especially among people with asthma or other respiratory conditions. •Reduced productivity: Heat can affect concentration, physical performance, and work efficiency, particularly among farmers, outdoor workers, students, and commuters. •Heatstroke: A life-threatening condition that requires immediate emergency medical attention. •Water Scarcity: Declining rainfall in some areas may gradually affect water availability for households, agriculture, and livestock. 🌿 HOW CAN DIFFERENT SECTORS PREPARE? As weather conditions change, appropriate measures can help reduce heat-related risks and protect lives and livelihoods. ✅ Individuals: Drink water regularly, wear lightweight, breathable clothing, and limit prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, especially during the hottest part of the day. Plan strenuous outdoor activities for cooler hours. 🌾 Agriculture and livestock: Adjust farm activities to cooler periods, conserve soil moisture with mulching, monitor crop water requirements, and ensure livestock have enough drinking water, shade, and ventilation. 🐟 Fisheries and aquaculture: Monitor Pond water temperature and dissolved oxygen levels, maintain adequate aeration, and take appropriate measures to reduce heat-related stress and fish mortality. 🌿 HOW CAN DIFFERENT SECTORS PREPARE? 🏫 Schools and workplaces: Ensure adequate ventilation, provide drinking water and shaded rest areas, and allow regular breaks during hot conditions. 🏥 Health sector: Strengthen heat-health awareness and prioritize protecting children, older adults, people with existing health vulnerabilities, and outdoor workers. 🌳 Communities: Promote tree planting, protect water sources and develop shaded public spaces to reduce exposure to excessive heat. 🏢 All sectors: Incorporate heat-risk management into operational planning to protect people, infrastructure, livelihoods and essential services. 🌍 UNDERSTAND THE CHANGE. PREPARE FOR THE HEAT. STAY SAFE. 📍 Follow the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet)'s official weather updates and advisories to stay informed and make weather-smart decisions throughout the seasonal transition. #NiMet #SeasonalTransition #EW4ALL #StayWeatherSmart #HeatSafety #HeatAwareness #StayHydrated #WeatherAwareness #ClimateResilience #PublicHealth #DrySeasonPreparedness #HeatRiskManagement #AgricultureAndClimate #ProtectLivesAndLivelihoods #WeatherForecast #NiMetWeatherUpdates – at Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria
