I came back to twitter just to ask one question. @DrToddLee this you? jamanetwork.com/journals/jam…
I was informed today by my surgical colleagues that their boards state that fidaxomicin is better than vancomycin for c diff. Is that a consensus in the ID community?
I have a patient who is on ertapenem for esbl organism osteomyelitis. @UHC approved 4 wks of antibiotics but now is asking for more out of pocket costs from the patient for the last 2 weeks bc of the new year. Why are you so non compassionate?
For those not on the IDSA IDea exchange. I am in the process of trying to get a meeting together for those interested in ID Critical Care society/idsa community. Please dm me your email if you would like to be included/involved.

Got to present a session @IDWeekmtg #IDWeek2024 on Trauma-Informed Care for STI in SPANISH along side my friend and colleague @RMGmdID. The “English subtitles” were in the slides, participation was outstanding!
How am I doing? Just waiting for @InYourFAECIUM to update his chronicles of maldi. Nothing else matters.

When fellows graduate, I feel like I am losing a close friend that is going out to do great things. Congrats to all the new graduates!
Is it just me or when I have native valve coagulase negative endocarditis, I almost can’t believe it. I once grilled a fellow on a patient with the h/o that diagnosis and it turned out I was the one who made the diagnosis last time.
Happy ID pharmacist day! I was in the MICU today and missed yall @Lingroff9 @ktraugott1 @emmypenem_ @samaureus I am sorry if i missed a tag, it’s been a long day.
My wife up on the stage with one of the Uvalde survivors. I am so proud of her and the whole University of Texas San Antonio and University Health teams. The family is also a testament of strength. @UTHealthSASurg #mayahstrong
Dr. Sriskandan’s talk on group a strep outbreak was about as perfect a talk as you can see. She instantly became a hero of mine. #ESCMIDGlobal2024
So the DOTs trial looks nice, well done, good randomization. The only thing that brings me pause is the amount of exclusions. I get that they had to be cautious but I feel I will be waiting for the phase 3. They also have more data coming out for f/u and MSSA vs MRSA subgroups.
My son is really enjoying the bacteriophage Q&A. #ESCMIDGlobal2024
After hearing the international presenters at #ECCMID2024 and their amazing english, gonna go back and hit up the duolingo.
Really enjoyed CID this week with the covid tales. I particularly enjoyed the one authored by @pusnbugsMD. You were a conan the barbarian of the id world. academic.oup.com/cid/article…
