In a joint investigation between Kansas Reflector and MS NOW, we obtained texts, audio recordings, photos and calendar items from 2020 showing Roger Marshall and his chief of staff may have used taxpayer dollars for Marshall's campaign.

Trump: "I alone could secure a prisoner release from Russia without giving anything in return"
Trump literally ten minutes later: "Now you idiots know why I had to waive sanctions on Russia, no shot I got that prisoner release otherwise"

Not a single professional staffer on the campaign? How? In 26 years in politics, I've never seen this. Ever.

Got married yesterday, and the Instagram algorithm that’s been serving me nonstop wedding content is now serving me day-after-the-wedding content.
The algorithm knows.
Just awful news. Laura balanced being an incredibly kind person with a job that sometimes requires you to be a bulldog for press access.

What’s really stunning about this is the level of confidence Andy Harris projects for something he’s completely wrong about.
Another quote from this former staffer about Roger Marshall’s chief:
“The question with him is whether he’s convinced himself that something’s not a rule, or he’s convinced himself that the rule doesn’t apply to him. Sometimes I wonder if he even knows.”

Having seen the texts messages and heard from former Roger Marshall staffers, I can tell you multiple people characterized Marshall’s chief of staff, Brent Robertson, as a guy testing the limits.
As one former staffer put it: “When you eat with Brent, he pulls out his wallet, and a card comes out, and it’s never his.”

In joint investigation with @MEPFuller, we obtained records from 2020 — when Roger Marshall first ran for Senate — that appear to show the senator and his top aide repeatedly using congressional staff and government resources in questionable ways #ksleg kansasreflector.com/2026/10/…

According to Marshall’s most recent Federal Election Commission records filed in July, no one working for Marshall’s campaign had received a paycheck in the past five years — a situation that campaign finance experts said was potentially unprecedented in the modern era of politics.
But according to Marshall’s chief of staff, Brent Robertson, the campaign now does have some paid staff, though he declined to offer evidence or details, such as how many people were being paid or when their employment began.
Still, campaign experts say the situation raises questions about the line between Marshall’s campaign and his taxpayer-funded Senate office.
In a joint investigation, Kansas Reflector and MS NOW obtained audio recordings, photos, videos, screenshots of text messages and calendar items from 2020 — when Marshall first ran for his Senate seat — that appear to show the senator and his top aide repeatedly using congressional staff and government resources in ways that experts say likely crossed the line between official business and campaigning.

An incredible fact about Roger Marshall's campaign: According to his most recent FEC reports, he doesn't have any paid staff.
His chief of staff says that's no longer the case, but the campaign refused to share details about anyone getting paid.
How are they accomplishing this feat? Read the story:

In October 2020, Roger Marshall called a "MANDATORY ALL-STAFF CALL" with his congressional office and campaign.
On that call, Marshall talked all about campaign issues.
Most offices strenuously avoid using official resources for campaigning. In Marshall's office...

Fact check: Mike Rogers is one of the chief architects of the modern surveillance state.
In Congress, he opposed every substantive effort to protect Americans’ privacy and worked hand in hand with the NSA, FBI, and intelligence agencies to bypass and erode the Fourth Amendment.
Flock cameras shouldn't be used to track law-abiding citizens. As a former FBI guy, I know security and liberty aren’t enemies. Good government protects both.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
- Rogers opposed ending bulk phone records collection
- lead sponsor of CISPA.

20 years ago this week, the Mark Foley scandal broke — revealing a congressman preying on teenage House pages while Hastert was speaker.

BREAKING: MS NOW EXCLUSIVE.
Republican Eric Schmitt was warned about the Jack Smith texts. He used them anyway.
GOP Judiciary staff told Schmitt the texts — obtained from the Trump DOJ — were "unvetted." Schmitt still used them.
Chuck Grassley also did not share the texts with Democratic senators before the hearing, breaking protocol.
