Dean and I live out here in Skamania County. We run an auto repair shop. We know what it costs to fill a tank, make payroll, and pay for childcare. I don't take corporate PAC money, so I can fight drug and insurance company price gouging instead of answering to them. That's how we bring costs down for WA-03.

Thanks for your help this weekend representing the independence of Southwest Washington! Great to see everyone in Vancouver, Longview, and Battle Ground. We're in the homestretch and I'm grateful for your support!

I know who I work for, and it is a gift to serve Southwest Washingtonians. I am profoundly grateful to the teachers, law enforcement, loggers, mill workers, veterans, daycare workers, and all who have shaped and guided my policy. Southwest Washington doesn't need a multimillion-dollar yes man like John Braun who won't support workers. I look forward to your vote, and thank you.

I'm one of the only members in Congress with a kid in public school. We need lawmakers who have turned wrenches, driven a truck, and send their kids to the same public schools as the rest of us.

It’s not fun to be in a fight, but it’s a gift to have something worth fighting for. In Southwest Washington, that’s our independence. Partisan politics won’t solve the problems we face. Listening and common sense will.

Longview’s mills support more than 2,000 jobs, plus the truckers and loggers who depend on them. This community doesn't exist without the mills. After what happened at Nippon, I’m working with workers like Mandie Bryant on legislation to make sure they have a seat at the table when investigators look into what went wrong. The people who do the job know best how to make it safer.

Trump gutted the U.S. Chemical Safety Board. I worked across the aisle to restore its funding. What happened in Longview deserves a clear, independent investigation, not someone who just wants to shut down the mill. We still take pride in the trades here. We still believe in getting our hands dirty to earn our money, not in exploiting someone else, somewhere else.

The students at Kelso High School have been putting their skills to great use, and it’s great to see the community supporting their shop program. I’ve been all over the district this week, from Ilwaco to South Bend and Centralia to Longview, hearing what’s weighing on people: the war with Iran, the cost of living, and rural schools stretched too thin. These aren't partisan problems, they're our problems, and I'll continue to fight to find solutions.

I voted against the Iran war six times. Diesel is over $7.50 a gallon in parts of our district, and that’s a huge strain on small businesses, on folks getting to work, and even on school districts busing kids to school. My opponent backs this war because he took Trump’s endorsement and the millions that came with it. He can’t be independent.

When I hear AWPPW union members like Russ talk about the importance of timber and paper in Southwest Washington, I listen. Thank you Russ.

How Senator Braun treated Colten Keller, and the misleading statements he made about it afterward, are more proof that he thinks working people are disposable. It’s part of a pattern. He voted against whistleblower protections for workers. After his company incurred multiple child labor violations, he walked away from its apprenticeship program rather than fix the bureaucracy that makes it hard to train young people safely in the trades. Braun listens to his lawyers and his pocketbook. He has shown a lack of leadership and a lack of respect for the trades.

Today, the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries fined Braun Northwest $12,842 for failing to protect workers from “contact with shear points,” according to a new Seattle Times investigation. It’s the latest in a troubling pattern of workplace safety problems at Senator Braun’s company. In Olympia, Braun voted against protecting workers from retaliation when they report safety hazards. He says his business takes safety seriously. The record says otherwise.

Congress approved funding for places like Clark College. The administration is using “pocket rescissions” to hold it back. That’s a gross misuse of executive power and a violation of Article One. So I introduced a bill with my Blue Dog colleagues to outlaw it, because it’s a tool no president of either party should get to use.

This is no longer just a series of ‘anomalies’. It's a pattern of putting profits over working people. From child labor citations to unsafe machinery practices and opposition to whistleblower protections, the record raises serious questions about whether worker safety ever came first at Braun Northwest. Most people I know believe that how you treat your own employees is a pretty good indicator of how you'll treat everyone else. Everything you need to know about how @votejohnbraun will represent Southwest Washington, you can learn from how he dismissed worker safety at Braun Northwest.
Exclusive: GOP House candidate John Braun’s company received three state citations for child labor violations in 2025. Some of the issues have been aired on the campaign trail, as his opponent has challenged his business record in campaign commercials. wapo.st/4z7zOrB

We’re in the home stretch! Thank you to everyone who knocked on doors with us this weekend. Together, we knocked on thousands of doors and had hundreds of conversations with voters. This campaign is powered by everyday people talking with their friends and neighbors about the issues that matter most. It was also great to meet folks and answer questions at the Washougal Pumpkin Harvest Festival, the Vancouver Farmers Market, and Pints with Perez at River Mile 38 Brewing Co. in Cathlamet. Thanks to everyone who came out!

The power of the purse comes from Congress. Article I of the Constitution clearly defines those roles, and I'm working to ensure that this White House doesn't rob citizens of legislative funding it was promised through Congress via "pocket rescissions".
