Since MapleStory N creators and ambassadors are barred by the terms of service from talking about the current state of MapleStory N,
I'm writing this post on their behalf.
Oh, ambassadors? Most of you probably didn't even know ambassadors existed, or who they are.
Honestly, even those ambassadors don't know what MapleStory N is. Haha.
Contrary to the main narrative creators are pushing, let me explain why you should NOT play MapleStory N right now.
It's actually simple. NXPC prices, EXP requirement relaxations, and item values are all hitting new record lows every single day.
Tomorrow will be cheaper than today, and next week will be far cheaper than tomorrow. If someone asks you to play together, push it off as long as possible.
In fact, if someone invites you to join them, I'm certain that person should be your #1 priority to avoid in life.
Next, the things they touted as differentiators from web2 KMS — reactors, dynamic pricing, NFT scarcity, RX experiences, web3-exclusive rental systems — none of it has come together properly.
They've simply delayed launches, left features abandoned, or postponed them indefinitely.
What even is web3's identity here? What would make any user pick MapleStory N over a web2 game?
The biggest issue is that the operations team acts like complete amateurs.
They have no spine. Earlier this year, when they released Lucid, they declared:
"By releasing bosses in this direction, item burn has become far larger than before, marking a turning point where NXPC inflow now outpaces outflow.
We will continue with this patch direction going forward!"
Then their actual actions were the exact opposite. They suddenly started handing out Power Crystals left and right, launched a web shop, adjusted dynamic pricing, and began helping low-spend players catch up.
What accelerated this even further was breaking completely from the original KMS patch order — handing out 3rd and 4th job skills along with common skills just to boost player power, letting 30m players ($3K invested) clear Hard Lucid, the ultimate endgame boss, right alongside 100m players ($80K invested).
As a result, everyone ended up receiving essentially the same rewards. The dev team realized this far too late, scrambling to admit their failure and apologize just three weeks before the Will boss release.
They promised a complete overhaul of boss and reward structures through rigorous testing and verification, guaranteeing both the joy of growing stronger and meaningful rewards.
Yet Will — the new boss released 5 months after Lucid — turned out to be weaker than Hard Lucid had been 5 months earlier!?
Back then, for the first few weeks, only an extremely small number of parties with over 100m combat power and fully starred 22-star gear could clear it. Now, thanks to management's coddling, even 50–60m players are clearing Will.
Players who originally only intended to run Normal end up running the exact same boss as people who invested 5 to 20 times more than them, without ever needing to invest in gear.
MapleStory N repeats its failures over and over. And then it repeats its apologies.
That's all there is to it. There's no compensation — they just tell players that the losses suffered along the way are unavoidable.
Some might say the current front-runners' gear is really just over-investment and self-satisfaction. But nothing in what MapleStory N said when releasing Hard Lucid this year, or in the developer notes before Will's release, ever framed it that way.
If anything, they actively encouraged over-gearing and gave players a goal to chase.
So the front-runners saw that and enhanced their gear, grinding hard on the strength of it.
The outcome was devastating, and it makes no sense.
If they had defined the front-runners' gear as over-investment from the start, all but a tiny handful (3-5 people) would never have bothered trying to stay ahead the way they did.
Now that most of the front-runners have finished their enhancement, it feels like the team is just trying to squeeze money out of everyone below them.
I genuinely regret starting MapleStory N. Even getting the server-first clear on Hard Will brought me zero joy. Since anyone can clear it, it gives me chills to think that if players on other servers had just prepared a little harder, a party that invested less than a twentieth of what we did could have taken the server-first clear instead of us.
If reading this makes you uncomfortable, that's just the poison NXPC has drip-fed into you.
From here on, no one is going to pay top dollar for your gear, and no whale is ever going to pay top price for newly released items again.
Here are the Flames of Rebirth and Cubes I bought from the Web Shop this week for my enhancement session.
Ready to test your luck? 🍀

Maybe I used up all the bad luck... so hopefully some good luck comes your way instead!

🎉 We cleared Hard Will!
Yesterday, after the first party claimed the first clear, we had a chance to become the second team to clear it. Unfortunately, we used all three of our attempts and came up just short.
Today, I almost ran out of Death Count myself. 😅
I think Phase 3 is especially difficult for teleport classes.
Even so, I'm really happy that we finally got the clear. That's all that matters.
Huge congratulations to our all-Korean party, and great job everyone! 🇰🇷👏

Here's a guide for the @MaplestoryU new Esfera Guardian daily quest that was released today!
The information and strategy are based on a guide compiled by the KMS community.
There are two possible Esfera Guardian map layouts: Pattern A and Pattern B.
Simply follow the numbered positions shown in the image and fire your strongest attack in order. It's a very easy way to clear the quest.
You can compare the video with the reference image as you go, and you'll be able to complete the daily comfortably.

2nd Place in the Mu Lung Dojo Tournament!
Today was the final day of the Mu Lung Dojo Tournament, so I pushed for one last personal best.
I knew catching Jack for 1st place wasn't realistic
he's just on another level but I still wanted to give it everything I had until the very end.
I made quite a few mistakes during the run. Even if I cleaned them all up, I probably would've only saved around 30 seconds, so I decided not to make another attempt.
Thanks to the tournament rewards, I was able to make some huge upgrades to my gear, and the event itself was a lot of fun

Is everyone getting ready for Will?
I've been looking forward to Will ever since it was announced as the main highlight of this summer update. Because of that, I've been steadily upgrading my character ever since the summer update began.
Just last month, I was wearing a full set of 19-star gear. Thanks to the Power Crystals I earned from the Mu Lung Dojo Tournament, I was able to make some huge upgrades. My Absolabs Shoulder, Gloves, and Cape all went from 19 stars to 21 stars, and my Lucky Von Bon Helm was upgraded from 21 stars to 22 stars.
The enhancement video I prepared starts after my cape was destroyed at 19 stars. It begins from 10 stars as I worked my way back up. I didn't record the shoulder or gloves because they both reached 21 stars without any trouble.
Since Will is a level 250 boss, I've also been grinding levels as hard as I can. When Morass was released, Path to the Coral Forest 4 turned out to be an absolutely insane training map. It has been the perfect place to prepare for Will.
Because Forest 4 is such an incredible grinding map, I'm a little worried about whether the upcoming areas, Esfera and Sellas, will be able to match its efficiency. By the time Will is released, I should finally reach level 250.
The update is only two days away. I'm sure everyone will be busy. Some parties will be rushing to challenge Will, while others will be exploring the new region.
I'm also looking forward to Will's new rewards. We're getting a new Black equipment pocket item, the SpellBook, and I expect we'll also receive Neso rewards in a similar way to Ascendant. Hopefully the rewards will be worth the effort.
I hope this final event of the @MaplestoryU summer wraps up on a high note. I can't wait to experience everything the update has to offer.

The summer @MaplestoryU update is finally almost here!
Looking at the upcoming contents that Tuner revealed through his tweet, it seems like the new boss Will — the one everyone already knows about — is being added, along with a brand new content called the Mu Lung Tournament!
And with this, we've finally found the reason why we have to keep geer up non-stop!
Do you guys have your own unique ways of geer up?
I think buying pre-worked items from the market is the most efficient way, but I personally believe my own method lets me enjoy that sweet enhancement dopamine while still keeping good efficiency!
I upgrade the Star Force on my gears one level at a time
In KMS, this is called 'staircase spec-up'. It means you set a goal to get all your equipment to 17-star, and once that's complete, you move on to 18-star on everything, then 19-star, 20-star, and so on — advancing one step at a time
That's why I have a ton of 19-star gears right now... The next goal is 20-star on all of them, but before that, I want to finish getting my Twilight Mark first, so I've kept everything paused at 19-star
Since the Twilight Mark has really cheap enhancement costs, I think I'll go straight for 22-star on it.
Of course, I'm only human too, so sometimes I can't hold back and end up mashing the enhance button instead of sticking to the staircase method. There have been times when my items exploded because of that, but there are also some gears that went even higher than planned
And the weapons and top/bottom pieces with really expensive enhancement costs are still stuck at 16-star and 18-star. Those have such high neso costs that it's really hard for me to bring myself to tap on them more
In this way, I think you guys should also use your own unique spec-up methods to properly gear up and prepare for this summer’s big update. It really feels like a ton of new bosses and contents are about to drop one after another. After all, they said the Black Mage is coming out within this year, and there are still quite a few bosses between Will and the Black Mage!
My preparation method is the 'staircase spec-up' combined with getting my Twilight Mark ready, since it has really cheap enhancement costs
They also mentioned that 3rd Cores and 4th Cores are coming, so don’t forget to prepare Node Stones!
And there’s only about 30 hours left until the Web Shop closes. The 30% Crystal discount is ending at the same time as well. This is literally the last chance to prepare for the summer update, so I really hope everyone doesn’t miss it!

Just like when Chuchu Island was first released, it seems like the exp level penalty is being applied incorrectly in the Morras region.
@MaplestoryU @nexpacetime
High-level players are earning less exp from monsters than low-level players.
It's exactly the same phenomenon that occurred on first day of Chuchu Island's release.

Welcome to Hyper Summer Grand Opening!
✦ New Class: Adele & Ark
✦ New Land: Arcana
✦ Level Cap Increased to 275
✦ 5th Skill Update
✦ Arcana Symbol & Spirit Savior
Chase your levels, challenge yourself, and power up with the latest updates:👇
Spirit Savior, the daily quest everyone finds a bit annoying but has to do anyway, has finally arrived in MapleStory N!
I'm not sure if this video will be helpful to everyone, but I wanted to share my clear video in case it helps
If I could give one piece of advice, it would be this: don't be too afraid of the Poison Spirit!
As long as you don't panic or rush, it will never be able to catch up to you in the end
I think making full use of the platforms at both ends of the map makes the challenge much easier
It was really scary.
I finally completed my Twilight Mark, which is one of the things I’ve been preparing for the @MaplestoryU summer update!

Recently, I’ve noticed several players I used to play with returning to the game.
It could be because of the Payback Event, the 1st Anniversary Event, or the upcoming updates featuring new classes like Ark, Adele, and Hoyoung.
However, many of those returning players told me that the removal of regional access restrictions is a very positive step for the future of the game.
I believe this policy change has significantly improved accessibility, encouraging both new and returning players to give the game a try.
It feels like a great time to enjoy @MaplestoryU with your friends and invite others back into the game.

I only found out today, but after the May 14 patch, many of the countries that previously had restricted access to @MaplestoryU were changed!!
Accessibility has improved significantly.
I’m really happy that players from many more countries are now able to enjoy MSU.
MapleStory Universe can now expand into a much wider world.
