I was super productive for two days straight, and today I feel like I am treading through water. That is how #ADHD feels, consistently inconsistent with energy, motivation, and output.

Having ADHD is not something I can accept as being a superpower of mine as some people believe it to be. I've tried so hard to understand it and to retrain my brain. But ADHD is not a superpower of mine. I can never believe it's my superpower after all the damage it's caused.

Every musician I know who's out touring, releasing records & looking like their careers are going great...when we talk 1 on 1, every single one shares how financially, emotionally, logistically stressful & challenging it really is behind the scenes...

It crushes me how self-conscious my ADHD friends are. Rushed apologies for being 5 minutes late. Remorseful explanations for not replying for a couple of days. Constant sorrys for interrupting. We've been trained to see the things we struggle with as friendship dealbreakers.

I struggle with decision-making because I have to consider every possible outcome.
And if I ever get around to making a decision, I dissect my reasoning until I question my entire existence.
But to everyone else, my decision paralysis just makes me look lazy.

OK~deep breath~I wrote about my year in a psychiatric unit, my 20 year battle with anorexia, how poverty & homelessness can fuel mental illness & why the postcode lottery for treatment must end. But mainly, I wanted to write about slowly getting better 🌱

We are so proud of the SWMS students who took part in this week's residential @SelworthySchool. They worked with @KantuEnsemble to deliver two interactive music performances for children with SEN as part of @LiveMusicNowUK's #AllTogetherNow series. Big thanks to all involved! 🎶
