The “rules-based order” boils down to this: The states of the imperial core can use unlimited violence to secure access to the lands, resources and labour of the global South, including gross violations of international law, and with total impunity. It is clear that Israel is showing no regard for the human rights of Palestinians trapped in horrific circumstances in Gaza. Suspension of the EU-Israel Association Agreement is long overdue.
With @JosepBorrellF and the Council of the EU, we have decided to convene an EU-Israel Association Council to assess compliance with the Association Agreement, which contains obligations to respect human rights.
