I live EASY because I choose HARD. Fact #1: A hidden paradox writes your life story, and your mastery of it will determine the quality of your life. It is the Art of War for Decision-Making. 👉 Choosing Easy punishes persistent hardship. 👉 Choosing Hard rewards persistent ease. It's so profound, I spent the last 4 years writing a book about it.

I paid no attention to the election. Watched exactly 0 minutes of news coverage in the last 2 years. Did the same thing in 2024. I learned long ago that these elections are meaningless, necessary evils, as if a choice between slicing off my thumb or my big toe is a choice, and that's how this crap works. There is no choice, only the illusion of choice. Not one politician gives a f*ck about me, so I don't give a f*ck about them. Voting for which deck chair to throw off the Titanic will not stop the inevitable sinking. In the US, celebrating or mourning political outcomes is fools errand. My life today is exactly the same as yesterday. Control what you can. Your health. Your family. Your happiness. Your mental sanity. Inviting politics in your life is like inviting in a pack of rabid hyenas in your home... protect your home.

At thefastlaneforum.com, an often-asked question is "How do I get started?" You'd think it would be common sense. Well, how do you get started in ANYTHING? You practice. You play. You use. How do I get started to run a marathon? You run. How do I get started to play piano? Find a piano keyboard and play. How do I get started playing tennis? Pickup a racket and play. How do I get started in swimming? Find a pool and jump in. How do I get started writing a book? Open a blank document and write one, single, solitary paragraph. How do I get started investing? Open a brokerage account and buy one share of one company. How do I get started lifting weights? Go to a gym and pick up a 10-pound dumbbell. How do I get started learning a new language? Download an app and learn how to say "hello." How do I get started in business? Find a product and sell it. How do I get started in AI? Find an AI and use it. You see, getting started in ANYTHING is as simple as performing the act. The more IRL experience you invest, the more you leave the the realm of "getting started" and advance to "expert." Just freaking do it!

Ben Franklin's "Some people die at 25 and aren't buried until 75," is an inference to dead dreams. Yet, I'd say dreams die much earlier. Ask your 7-year-old self what they wanted to be. Astronaut? Scientist? Firefighter? Pro footballer? Now show them your current life. Would that kid be proud of you, or furious? If it's fury, there is hope: Different choices yield different outcomes. What will you choose differently?

My conference venue wanted to bill me $1,500 for stage curtains. I sent 1 email asking if they could do better. They waived it. 30 seconds. $1,500. That's $180,000 an hour. Before you buy anything, hire yourself to ask: "Is that the best you can do?" The ROI will tickle you.

Cheat code! Cheat code! Cheat code! Everywhere I look, cheat-code! Want a cheat code? Here it is: No one is coming to save you-- no politician, no guru, no YouTube influencer with a "free training" has your cure-- it's all on you and your darn decisions.

I walk past my local cemetery often. Many headstones hide an "un": Novels UNwritten. Businesses UNlaunched. Symphonies UNComposed. Souls UNmated. The "UN" is UNmistakable: dreams that went UNpursued due to fear. My walk in the cemetery is a stark reminder on the shortest of life and why I choose to live boldly. And it's why this exercise is an official challenge at Inspirited.com - I recommend this exercise, and often.

A 33-year-old valet taught himself to build mobile games. Six months. 40 games. About $40 in total earnings, or a few lunches at Chick-fil-A. Game 41 was Color Switch: over 200 million downloads. Now the dude can buy a Chick-fil-A franchise. Lesson: Most people quit the entrepreneurial game after 1 swing. One swing doesn't make a season. Expect entrepreneurship to be like baseball: fouls, strikeouts, popups-- and you'll keep swinging, and eventually, SCORE. Maybe even hit that home run.

I feel better at 57 than I did at 33. Why? I choose hard. When you ignore the check engine light, a $100 sensor becomes a $5,000 engine rebuild. Your body, your marriage, your energy, and your finances all have that warning system. Every choice is a stitch, a thread-- yet few people see the skin they are sewing, a skin that they will bear like a sack of bricks, carried for decades. The Rule of Imminence. Hard is inevitable. However, when you continually choose easy, hard arrives at 33, not at 83. Choose wisely.

You trade 5 days of freedom to buy 2. Five for two. If an advisor pitched you that deal (hand over $5, get $2 back, + kiss your principal goodbye) you'd report him to the SEC. You'd accuse him of fraud. Yet millions sign up for this horrible trade every Monday morning and call it the workweek. And no one dares question it, much less tries to escape it. I'm am fortunate to have questioned it young and executed a strategy to escape it. Result: For the last 25 years, every day has felt like a Saturday. Societal defaults don't need to be yours.

A man put an old dresser on the curb with a sign: FREE. It sat there for days. He swapped the sign for $50. Within an hour it was stolen. Price is a paint job. Paint your product (or yourself) cheap and people assume it is.

I quit social media for 4 years: only granted myself access once a week for business purposes. Despite that, a lot of you asked me during that time to return to YouTube and I have. This is my first video in 4 years. youtube.com/watch?v=hQTAVn99… I plan to do a few videos per month in the realms of Fastlane business, decision-making, and entrepreneurship. Maybe even a few AI takes. Please subscribe if you want to level-up your life and learn from someone who is truly living in the top 10% of the 1% life. New video drops Tuesday May 25. Anyhoo, my social media absence was a personal decision that helped me level up in all aspects of life. I still plan to avoid a lot of social media, but I realize YouTube is venue I shouldn't be ignoring — it was the one social media channel I visited often to learn things, hence, testing my Standing Order. IMO, YouTube is a great asset, or it could be great hindrance, or as I say in the video, a hammer to your brain. Like every thing, every moment of your life — this is a choice. Choose wisely. MJ

Entrepreneur PRO-TIP: Examine your business credit card statements: For every expense, ask, "Can AI build something completely custom to my business that can eliminate this expense?" You likely will find a several items that you can ditch with a 2 hour vibe coding session. I vibed my way free of $127/mo, and a potential $480/mo underway: that's $7,200+ for the year. NOT CHUMP CHANGE!
