NEW: Will County, Illinois, election officials confirm they received Pope Leo XIV’s ballot today, completing the historic first vote cast in a democratic election by a reigning pope in the Catholic Church’s 2,000-year history.
Leo has said Catholics cannot be “unengaged spectators.”
Over the past 18 months, he has clashed with the Trump administration over the Iran war, immigration raids, the death penalty, and climate change. thelettersfromleo.com/p/pope…

Don't merge ChatGPT and Codex usage limits!!!!
My workflow is simple,
GPT-6 Thinking for daily tasks, research, and reasoning.
Codex for actual coding and development.
Both have their own purpose.
If ChatGPT Thinking starts consuming the same quota as Codex, users will have to think twice before even asking GPT a question.
Pro users shouldn't have to sacrifice their coding quota just to use ChatGPT normally.
Separate limits make sense. Why change something that already works?

Rep. Haley Stevens’ staff is right to resign in disgust. They understand that the election in Michigan is far more important than Haley’s fragile ego and that all of us must stand together to elect Abdul, defeat Rogers and end the Republican rubber-stamp control of the Senate.
New: Statement from Haley Stevens’ chief of staff Justin German confirms many of her team have resigned & they back Abdul El-Sayed for #MISen
“We are shocked and heartbroken by Congresswoman Stevens’ decision to support Mike Rogers.”
This assumes Haley Stevens still cares about being a Democrat; I doubt she does.
I wouldn't be surprised if she switched to the GOP, rebranded as an independent who votes with Republicans, or cashed out of politics altogether for a bigger paycheck.

Haley Stevens deserves tremendous credit for unifying the Democratic Party today.
Haley Stevens (@HaleyforMI) asked Michigan Democrats for their votes, their money, and their trust.
Now she's endorsing Trump's candidate and showing Michigan Democrats exactly what they avoided.
I don't think I got the Codex/Work reset from @OpenAI tonight. Did anyone else? @thsottiaux
My 5-hour limit was depleted using Astra on low within 15 seconds. @OpenAI @thsottiaux

One thing that still bothers me is the way Tibo recently implied that Plus users are mostly “casual,” while the real professionals are on Pro.
He literally described Plus users as “relatively casual and new users” when he brought the 5-hour limit back on Plus, while keeping Pro $100 and $200 exempt for now.
I like Tibo a lot and I genuinely think he’s brilliant at what he does, but that framing was unfortunate.
That framing can easily sound like “professional” means either:
→ you code all day
→ you run a company that burns insane amounts of tokens
→ you’re rich enough to treat compute like a rounding error
But there are teachers, researchers, designers, writers, analysts, engineers, architects, lawyers, doctors, scientists, indie developers, artists, translators, consultants, journalists, small business owners, and a thousand other professionals who can absolutely depend on AI every day without needing a $100–$200 plan.
Paying $20/month does not make someone a casual user.
I really hope OpenAI starts valuing Plus users more as the new model variants roll out, with better features, stronger models, and products designed for serious users who simply don’t live inside the highest compute tier.
OpenAI, please remove the 5 hour limit for Plus users.
If we’re paying for a weekly Astra quota, let us use it however we want even if we burn it all in one sitting.
Right now, Astra uses so many tokens that the 5 hour limit can hit after just 10–20 minutes.
Anyone else seeing Astra burn through ChatGPT Plus Work limits almost instantly? I used Astra Low for a Gmail/browser task. It hit my 5-hour limit; I used a full reset, and ~1–2 minutes later, the fresh 5-hour window was at 0% again. Support escalated it. @OpenAI @thsottiaux
The new 5h usage limits in ChatGPT Work/Codex are so frustrating, and I feel like I can't get anything meaningful done. Please remove the 5h limit so we have a little more freedom in how we work, @OpenAI and @thsottiaux.
One small UX regression in the new @OpenAI ChatGPT Mac app: the Copy, Download, and Open in Editor buttons used to follow me as I scrolled through a long writing block; now they stay at the top. I never realized how often I relied on that sticky toolbar until it was gone.

I deeply resent that AI has forced me to eliminate em dashes from my writing for fear of signaling slop
When I tried ChatGPT Work on release day, I was so frustrated by how difficult it was to access my chat history and return to Chat that I almost abandoned ChatGPT. Please give us clear Chat/Codex/Work tabs, @OpenAI. People still want a simple, distraction-free Chat view.

I think "the warmth of collectivism" can be viewed in different ways.
If you view it as "Communism" or similar, Barron is right.
However, there are plenty of ways the US tends to be overly individualistic, where "the warmth of collectivism" can be neutral or good.
There was a line from Zohran Mamdani’s inaugural address yesterday that took my breath away. He said he intended to replace “the frigidity of rugged individualism with the warmth of collectivism.” Collectivism in its various forms is responsible for the deaths of at least one hundred million people in the last century. Socialist and Communist forms of government around the world today—Venezuela, Cuba, North Korea, etc.—are disastrous. Catholic social teaching has consistently condemned socialism and has embraced the market economy, which people like Mayor Mamdani caricature as “rugged individualism.” In fact, it is the economic system that is based upon the rights, freedom, and dignity of the human person. For God’s sake, spare me the “warmth of collectivism.”
