Crazy.
Do you remember when you joined X? I do! #MyXAnniversary
May be slightly flawed, but the general reaction to that one weirdo wrt to Edi's upcoming live show reaffirms this for me:
In the presence of too much positivity people will pounce at any opportunity for chaos.
Flawed, because it may just be people engaging to keep the show front & center of our discourse.
But ngl, the guy's been the one public negative note in a month-long, truly thorough rollout scheme for Edi & team.
And given it was guichet ferm茅 weeks out from the show, with max community engagement, he normally shouldn't matter.
& yet, il est entrain de bouff茅 la tontine & I'm lmao.
Goes to show how effective @SangoEdi & team have been, & I congratulate you already on a successful show sir. Well done.
July 19th will be quite the moment for 237X, & it's been quite the year of centering & celebrating art from here.
I'm staying tuned for the X link, & max enjoyment to everyone at the show with Sango Edi. Cheers. 馃馃嚚馃嚥馃嚚馃嚥馃嚚馃嚥
This is what you get for handling business & being on the best teams in the group stages.
Cape Verde & a favourable draw.
Messi is on a war path. Great World Cup so far. Fun times ahead.
Replying to @JoviLeMonstre
@JoviLeMonstre good evening boss.
Just to let you know, you have earned a well-deserved rest after these shows.
But please don't rest too long.
We're still waiting for you with change in our pockets in all our different towns across Cameroon.
There's so much more music to vibe to, & our appetite is wetter than ever after travelling to Yde/Dla for these shows.
Make time for us too boss. Cheers, Mboko is forever. 馃嚚馃嚥馃嚚馃嚥馃嚚馃嚥
Passing through Yassa on the way back home, & you can immediately see why people derisively call Yaound茅 a "Big Village".
On the one street that connects Tradex Yassa to Chateau Nyalla, you can feel so much more life than on any one street I travelled across in Yaound茅.
The fuel stations, supermarkets, even the "Visite Technique" center, interspersed by themed bars & small business shops, with obviously better visual quality at a glance.
& that's just Yassa, the latest complete new layout in Douala, not the most vibrant quarter by any stretch, & yet the difference is so stark.
Riding through Cameroonian cities on bikes gives you a unique opportunity to get a feel of the city, & its people.
And riding back & forth across Yde the last few weeks, the city leaves an impression on you.
The people are conservative. Essentially.
They're not particularly looking to draw in as many enthused people into their different establishments as possible.
What works for them, within regulations, is what's delivered. & whatever comes in, given what they're offering, suffices.
No competitive drive is self-evident among the businesspeople in Yde, the town just is.
& as someone who leans conservative given the current political spectrum, I can and do appreciate that.
Moneymaking as a means to an end, rather than as a way of life, or as an end in itself.
The age-old question of causation, whether this is by sociopolitical design or a reflection of the nature of the forest people of Yaound茅, remains. But I'd wager it's a combination of both.
Passing through Yassa on my way back home from @JoviLeMonstre's PAPOSY Mboko Forever concert, I could immediately see why some people sarcastically call Yaound茅 a "Big Village".
& personally, I wouldn't want Yaound茅 any other way. As quaint, trite, & as red as it is, that is the capital of Cameroon, reflecting our oft-forgotten conservative civilisational base.
Stay true to self "Ongola", it's been great getting to know you. Onto the next time.
