The budget for Digger is not Tom Cruise's or Alejandro G. Iñárritu's fault.
But Digger will remain a stark reminder of how quickly unexpected production delays can cause issues.
Initially greenlit at $125 million, freak injuries and $25 million in Mission: Impossible holding fees blew the budget wide open.
The delay effect on this scale is always brutal. Stalled cameras force studios to burn millions just keeping everyone under contract.
