Two athletes with local ties were at the top of the women's leaderboard for today's Lincoln Marathon. Millard South and Oklahoma State Taylor Somers won in 2:39:59 while UNO assistant track coach Saskia Pingpank (Hannover, Germany) was second in 2:46:21. On a more more personal note, Nerd Junior knocked out a 2:48:00, and we're hoping the 12-minute cushion over the Boston age-group time will get him a spot in April.

People always ask why I coach, this is WHY! Walking out of my final treatment, feeling pretty gross, surprised by these amazing young men that had been waiting almost 20 min to tell me CONGRATS! Shoutout to my wife and oldest for being my BIGGEST supporters through all of this!

And a special shoutout to Abbi Durow on her 4th place finish at state! Abbi wrapped up an incredible career becoming one of 27 girls all time to earn a state medal all four years of her high school career. Congrats Abbi we are proud of you!
