These people are not fit to be in #Parliament or #British Government. In fact they seem anti-British to me.
#Labour #Budget2026 SHOCKING.
Jenrick is completely correct here.
@PaulBrandITV of Woke ITV News is a "left wing activist" not a journalist.
The new Maitlis.
Any right wing politician must point this out any time they are interviewed by him.
Well done @RobertJenrick

Buried in @JohnHealey_MP budget is the revelation of £150m for more army bases for illegal migrants. Wonder why the chancellor never mentioned that in his dull statement

Not one of these people has ever had a real job, never invented anything, never exported anything, never run a business, never created any jobs...
A big Budget for economic growth. Decisive moves on energy, devolution and backing business. Proud to have worked with @JohnHealey_MP to deliver it.

👏 Brilliant from Sophy Ridge as she told the Chancellor to his face: your budget does NOTHING.
The Chancellor walked in expecting soft questions on @RidgeandFrost about “change”. What he got was a direct challenge over the gap between the big promises and the empty budget he just delivered. Sophy didn’t let him hide behind spin for a second:
“When Andy Burnham came in he promised change, not just any change, big change! He promised to end 40 years of neo-liberalism. Don’t take this the wrong way, but that wasn’t a budget to end 40 years of neo-liberalism, right?”
Chancellor: “I would say that is wrong.”
He claimed he’d set out decisions that would change Britain’s energy system and market for good.
Sophy: “Like what?”
Chancellor: “Like an end to levies on household bills.”
She cut him off: “Come on! You’ve been talking about nationalisation of our utilities and ending 40 years of Thatcherism.”
Chancellor: “He’s talking about bringing energy bills down and in line with Europe.”
Sophy wasn’t having it: “You’re talking about levies on bills, this is a different order of magnitude.”
Then the line that finished him: “Give me one thing in this budget that Rachel Reeves wouldn’t have done as chancellor?”
He had nothing.
This is a big nothing burger. Starmer 2.0. No fundamental change.
Absolutely nothing in there for the working men and women who get up and graft all day for nothing. Nothing to incentivise work. Nothing to reward effort over dependency.
Is it any wonder people are happy to sit on their backsides and get paid by the state? This government shows no sign at all of addressing that.
They promised to end 40 years of the status quo. They delivered more of it.
🚨 BREAKING: A UK bank chief executive has said of Healey's budget:
"Taxing the engines of growth to reduce VAT on gherkins is end-of-Rome level of stupidity"

Nothing highlights the fiscal failure of this government more starkly than the plight of Poundland. The chain's 600 stores and 12,000 workers sit on the verge of collapse, not because its customers have walked away - Poundland's sales grew by 6.7% in September - but because of this government's unaffordable tax rises, which makes it impossible to run a business that works on slim profit margins to keep its prices down for its customers. How ironic that a government preaching about helping the least well-off is forcing a company out of business that does just that.
Local piemaker explains how Burnham's first Budget will make things much worse:
"I don’t qualify for the business rates relief because I’m multi-site… I’ve got two shops, so I don’t qualify. The minimum wage has increased. I’m not saying we shouldn’t pay staff. I’m saying we can’t afford to pay them…
All my staff have been with us for years. So I’m going to have approximately a £700 a week increase. My suppliers are having an increase too. My supply bills are around £20,000 to £30,000 a week. That’ll go up 10%, so £2,000 to £3,000 a week. So that’s £4,000 a week I’ve got to find…
That’s about 20,000 to 30,000 pies a week. So my costs have gone up. I’ve got no business rates relief. The National Insurance is crippling me. The energy crisis is crippling me. I’m going to have to put my prices up,
Customers are going to get mad. I’m going to get less profit. As a family, as a director, I’ve got to take a 2% cut. So my family, my one-year-old girl. I’m taking a pay cut. The business is taking a pay cut.
How is that breathing room for me? Where’s my breathing space? John Healey, if you’re listening, where’s my breathing space? You promised me. You promised the UK breathing space. Where is it?"
