Kenyans are not safe in Kenya. East Africans are not safe in Kenya. Stop coming here for the time being. Kenya is under reconstruction. We're fixing the problem. Come back in 2028. We'll have cool water for you to drink, and a mound of ugali for you to eat.

The hardest pill i had to swallow this year was realizing that you can feel completely alone, be at your lowest, and the world will still keep moving. People will move on. Life will go on. And somehow, you’ll have to find the strength to stand back up. Because at the end of the day, the only person who can truly save you is yourself.

Good to see some of the reactions to Serbia and Brazil: that it takes dedicated organising to win an election. What will it take to change a system? To fix an economy? To challenge a deeply unfair global (dis)order? To renew a social commitment to the values Kenyans agreed represent them? Just as important, who will it take beyond politicians for this to happen? Kenya is in an argument between its past and its future - how it goes depends on who shows up to argue.
