You see this image? That’s an image from @dustinpari’s “Spooky Pages” coloring book series. The “Haunted Houses” one. And I colored this one myself. It was the first image I colored since my son was about 6 years old and he’s in his late 30s now. I used markers. Not AI - with markers. And not with any plan in mind…I just went with the flow of my thoughts and feelings and let time slip away in a most therapeutic way. This is a Bendy original of a Dustin Pari “Spooky Pages”image. The first one of many of his Spooky Pages images I ever colored and the first time I’d colored in more than three decades. And it came out so good, I used it as my phone lock screen wallpaper for three Halloween seasons in a row, (except this year…I have something different). I added “Happy Halloween” to it and use it as a Halloween greeting I post here on X, and to text to friends. This image MEANS SOMETHING to me on a few different levels. Dustin’s “Spooky Pages” series is something else. And he even has a couple of coloring books entitled, “Coloring is Mental,” that promote mental health awareness and can serve as a vehicle for communication or therapy. All day long, every day for the last few weeks, I get political texts from both sides. The frequency yesterday and today as we approach Election Day, has become unbearable. I hate them so bad that I don’t want to vote for them - even if I was going to before I got the text - just for sending me a freaking text! I wish, as I block each number, report them as scams/spam, and delete them, that they would get an little zap…a little shock - not lethal, but certainly painful - like static electricity times, say, 20. I have work to do. I have family texting me. I have friends texting me and it’s a joy to receive and answer those texts. Important stuff. What I DON’T need are a dozen “get out and vote” texts a day interrupting all the important things - including music being played on my phone or in the car via CarPlay. And every one of them - EVERY SINGLE ONE (and from both sides) - do not give me a reason to vote FOR the candidate whose campaign the texts are from. No. They tell me some reason not to vote for their opponent. And half the time it’s a half-truth spun in a way that makes it an inaccuracy if not an outright lie. Oh, so you want me to not vote for your opponent with a more in their eye and vote for you with the beam in yours?! I hate every single one of the motherfuckers. Both sides! Lose my number, losers! ALL of you!

I am without words. He wasn’t just the best Captain ever in the Star Trek franchise, but he was the best Ebenezer Scrooge that has ever been put on film or audio. Rest well, Sir Patrick. You will be greatly missed.
