I regret opening our office in Dubai.
Today, our company completes 1 year of registration in Dubai. Last year, I received my trade license at this hour. I remember being excited as well as nervous. Had no co-founder, mentor, or strategic advisor. Just big dreams, zeal, and a gut feeling that the UAE will do magic for me.
Today, when I look back at my journey (and numbers), my only regret is why I didn't do this before. Why did I wait for the right time?
Opening an office in Dubai has been one of the best business decisions. From money to work culture, everything has been top-notch.
Two things:
1. I am looking for a mentor/strategic advisor who can help us with expansion.
2. If you have any questions around UAE company setup, feel free to comment or DM. :)
There's something about Diwali season. Hawa hi alag hai. You feel generous, excited, less angry/happier. You feel like gifting everyone around you.
Maybe that’s the real magic of Diwali. It's not just about puja or diyas. Old grudges feel too heavy to carry, we finally reconnect with all our loved ones, and everyone smiles a little extra.
People do remember what you gift them on Diwali. Unless it is soan papdi, which nobody wants to remember. :)
an agency i know spent 30lakhs on diwali gifts this year
i genuinely dont get the diwali gifting culture (after doing it twice before)
half of it never reaches anyone.
- some people are at home, some at office, some have no one there to collect it
- if it’s food, everyone’s health conscious now. it just gets passed on to someone else
- amazon vouchers to clients feel like a bribe ngl
and after all that you’re still messaging everyone “hey did you get it??” (in case you didn't get an acknowledgement)
we dont do it at inagiffy
i’d rather call people one by one. happy diwali, thank you for being a part of this journey
that call goes 10x further than any box of kaju katli
point is: do good work, pay people well, build a place they actually like working at
nobody remembers what you sent them last diwali : )
My IG is full of positive reviews of Ramayana but in Noida, most of the theatres have seats easily available. Anyone who can share an honest review?
My cousin orders a large pizza with extra cheese, garlic bread, and fries, then says, “Diet Coke, please”, as if coke is the only problem.
That’s Delhi right now.
The Supreme Court has allowed green crackers in Delhi-NCR on 7th and 8th November. That too with just one hour in the morning and two in the evening.
But I have a problem with it. Green crackers aren’t clean; they’re just less dirty, and for a city that has the AQI at 300+ and some areas even crossing the 450+ mark, they can make the AQI even worse.
So, green crackers are basically the Diet Coke of Diwali.
The AQI is going into the severe category, and we’re allowed to use GREEN crackers.
The new Bengaluru-Mumbai Vande Bharat sleeper started yesterday. And it is already fully booked for the next 2-3 weeks before its first run.
The 3AC fare is roughly INR 2800, ie 60-90% higher than other trains on this route. But it cuts down the journey to 16 hours. Saving 6 hours of your travel time!
Hence, whether in the US or India, customers pay for time saved.
I sent a Theobroma hamper to my client from Zomato and she hasn’t acknowledged it yet. Not sure if she has even realised who has sent it. What do you guys do in this situation?

So many companies I know are giving just 1 day off on Sunday for Diwali. That's borderline inhumane. You talk about work-life balance, enjoy Christmas break, but Diwali pe 1 extra off dene ke naam par jaan nikal rahi hai?
Diwali is not a one-day affair. It's a festival we wait for the entire year. Ghar jaana, family ke saath rehna, safai, puja, mithai, sab kuch time maangta hai. 2 din Diwali ke liye dena koi favour nahi hai. It’s basic respect for the people who keep your company running.

Just got a dry fruit pack in Diwali gift. All my love to people who send gifts but can we pls ban those boring sweets, dry fruit packs, or metal diyas as gifts? High time we add some Gen Z tadka to our gifts.
Every entrepreneur deserves an entrepreneurial friend. With each passing month and larger scale, the challenges increase.
You need someone you can call and rant, "yaar aaj pata hai kya hua", without worrying if he is getting bored or not understanding your situation.
A relative got a checkup done at the local Apollo Hospital in a tier 2 city and couldn’t stop talking about it. The appointment ran on time, the staff were very helpful, and the doctor didn’t rush through the reports. A few years ago, a general hospital visit in India sounded stressful. Good to see that has changed with Apollo leading the way.
No more rants on Delhi’s cab situation. Green SM is giving Dubai taxi feels in Noida. Clean, green, and much more affordable.
People don't care about me and that has been my best realisation. I spent years wondering, "What will people think about me?" Even today, I don't post half of the things about my life with this thought.
But in reality, nobody gives a damn. Everyone is going through their own shit.
I am shutting down my agency to become a ₹10K/month intern.
Why? Because a founder just posted the greatest job advert in corporate history:
"LinkedIn ghostwriter. Remote. ₹10–15K stipend. Must write like Dan Koe, Lenny Rachitsky, and Gary Vee."
Reading this made me question my entire career.
No, seriously.
Dan Koe, Lenny Rachitsky, and Gary Vee are three of the top minds of our time. Their writing is the product of decades of elite-level thinking.
Now imagine the creative genius of the 21-year-old Gen Z founder who manages all three of them into one person for the price of a second-hand iPhone 6.
Working under a visionary like that is my absolute dream.
Is the role still open? Asking for myself.
After 6 years of working non-stop, my highlight of the day is not getting my payment or closing a client (even I am shocked). It's either a good swimming session, or booking tickets for a trip, or getting through a whole day of eating clean.
None of these will ever show up on a balance sheet. Things which I did not even consider 5 years back now give me the maximum joy.
I still love my work. I still want to grow. But I’ve stopped believing that work alone is supposed to make me happy.
My dadi was right when she said, “Sukh to choti choti baatan mein hi lukyo hai.”
