Two years ago, at the Nigeria Peering Forum (#NGPIF24), MainOne was in the room shaping the conversation on the future of Nigeria's digital infrastructure. Our Director, Solutions Architects, Oluwasayo Oshadami spoke on sustainable, scalable data centers, while Ade Omololu, Head of Network Planning, made the case for resilience and collaboration to protect Nigeria's subsea cables.
Resilient networks and sustainable data centers were the focus then, and they remain the priority now.
This year, fresh insights, practical solutions and meaningful connections as we continue to build the digital backbone that connects Nigeria and West Africa.

Different industries. One common theme: enabling growth through infrastructure and collaboration.
At the Nigerian Belgian Chamber of Commerce Executive Roundtable, Olubunmi Elizabeth Ogun joined industry leaders to discuss the evolving needs of Nigeria's construction and housing sector, exploring how reliable digital infrastructure, connectivity, and strategic partnerships can support business growth and long-term development.
Also at Capacity Europe 2026, our team, led by Dolapo Onah, engaged with global industry leaders on the trends shaping connectivity, digital infrastructure, and AI, while exploring opportunities for future collaboration.
While the conversations spanned different sectors, they reinforced a shared reality: meaningful progress happens when innovation, infrastructure, and partnership come together to solve today's challenges and unlock tomorrow's opportunities.
AI is rapidly moving from aspiration to implementation. But is your enterprise infrastructure truly ready for the demands of AI?
We are hosting an exclusive Executive Roundtable during the OffChart NXT 2026 conference, where our Solutions Architect, Oluwakorede Opanubi, will lead a conversation on "AI-Ready or AI-Aspiring? Putting Enterprise Infrastructure to the Test."
This conversation will explore the critical infrastructure foundations needed to support innovation, scale securely, and deliver measurable business outcomes.

The next chapter of digital growth will not be measured by how many people are connected, but by how much capacity is utilized and how much traffic is exchanged locally.
This shift redefines success for digital infrastructure in West Africa. Expanding access was the first milestone. The next is strengthening the interconnection ecosystems that keep data, value, and economic opportunities within the region.
At MainOne, we are building the infrastructure that powers that future.
What metric do you think will define the next decade of Africa's digital economy?
As compliance requirements continue to evolve, securing digital transactions, customer data, and critical business assets remains a top priority.
At the recent Equinix Executive Roundtable, we brought together financial services leaders to discuss emerging regulations, evolving risk considerations, and the infrastructure strategies required to build resilience.
A clear theme emerged: compliance is essential, but a secure, interconnected, and future-ready digital ecosystem is what enables organizations to thrive in an increasingly digital world.
Nigeria's story is one of resilience, ambition, and endless possibilities. Every internet connection, every business transaction, and every digital interaction brings us closer together and drives the nation forward.
As we mark another year of independence, we remain committed to providing the digital infrastructure that enables businesses to grow, innovation to thrive, and the nation to compete globally.

We provide high-performance interconnection that keeps your enterprise and cloud workloads connected across the South-South region, helping critical systems, data and operations stay responsive, reliable and always moving.
Your operations don’t stop at the shore. Neither should your connectivity. Stay Connected.
Last week, we had the privilege of hosting several industry leaders at the Equinix Executive Roundtable to explore the practical implications of the 2027 CBN mandate, share experiences, and exchange perspectives on navigating the evolving regulatory landscape.
Watch this space for several highlights from the discussion.
Africa's next wave of digital growth depends on how effectively we connect the dots between power, policy and infrastructure. True progress happens when industries, governments and technology leaders work together to build integrated ecosystems.
We are committed to enabling these connections by providing the digital infrastructure that brings businesses, networks and opportunities together to power Africa's digital future.
Everyone talks about digital transformation.
But for manufacturers and FMCG organizations, digital transformation only delivers value when the underlying infrastructure can keep pace with the demands of production, supply chains and business critical systems.
Resilient connectivity is about more than staying online. It means greater uptime, confidence in critical operations and the flexibility to support future growth.
In this video, your will see how reliable digital infrastructure is helping businesses build stronger, more connected operations.

“Africa must build ecosystems, not silos.”
This was a key message from Wole Abu during the ITW Africa 2026 data centre panel on delivering digital infrastructure at scale.
As demand for digital services continues to accelerate across the continent, Africa's digital growth will depend on more than infrastructure alone. It requires the right mix of power, policy, connectivity, investment and collaboration, working together to create ecosystems where businesses can scale and innovation can thrive.
Our team is at ITW Africa this week, connecting with industry leaders, partners and customers to exchange insights, explore opportunities and discuss how we can collectively accelerate Africa's digital transformation.

"Without interconnection, localized data has no value — it's just sitting there."
At the Nigerian Fintech Forum, Abdulfattah Adesanya, Solutions Architect Manager at Equinix West Africa, made the point that data localization conversations shouldn't stop at data center capacity, they need to be about building the ecosystem that connects telcos, cloud providers, and regulators.
With our hybrid multicloud architecture, balanced data sovereignty means regulated data stays in-country while still connecting to global AI and cloud ecosystems for innovation.

Akwa Ibom's digital future is moving from plans to progress.
From landing the 2Africa subsea cable at Qua Iboe, Akwa Ibom State in 2024, to expanding metro fiber across several of the state's commercial nerve centers, we have now extended high-speed connectivity into the newly upgraded Victor Attah International Airport.
This goes beyond faster check-ins or smoother airport operations. It is about building the digital infrastructure that enables people, businesses and institutions to participate more fully in the digital economy.
And it's not stopping here. Our metro fiber rollout continues across Akwa Ibom, reaching further into the state's commercial and residential clusters to keep businesses and communities connected.
We remain committed to powering Akwa Ibom's digital future with world-class connectivity.
