Stolas isn't a bad person, just ignorant as fuck. He is very very sheltered and as a result, fails to understand his place in society. He doesn't understand there is an inherent power imbalance between him and blitz from the start. Both socially, and economically. He, as a noble, can never be on true equal footing with blitz so from blitz's perspective he can never know if Stolas is genuine or not. Stolas is literally untouchable in his eyes. Just like all nobles are. Hence why blitz was so confused when Stolas went to the hospital. But more then that, Blitz is painfully aware he is a scapegoat, he is not valued like Stolas is, that Stolas could fuck up his entire life, and that it is Stolas's "charity" that props up I.M.P. not him. Blitz understands the relationship at this time is transactional because Blitz's understands the power imbalance. Stolas however thinks the relationship is pure because he doesn't acknowledge the power imbalance and therefore thinks he is genuine. The biggest issue with Stolas and Blitz is, in my opinion, Stolas. Not saying Blitz is pure and without issues. He's got some shit he needs to work through BUT Stolas has always held the power in their relationship. Even now, when there isn't really a power imbalance anymore. He still is the one calling all the shots in the relationship. He's making decisions FOR BLITZ rather then asking Blitz what he wants. It's not Stolas's place to decide what Blitz deserves. The irony is they can finally be on equal footing. Yes, Blitz is his boss and roommate but he could also get a different job or live somewhere else if he wanted. Because neither is holding life ending power over the other. Blitz can understand Stolas is genuine now. They can be the "pure" relationship Stolas always wanted but again, Stolas is nieve, ignorant, and doesn't really understand the reality of their relationship. If Stolas goes with Viaggo, then they will be back to square one because again, Stolas will be apart of high society again. If Blitz and Stolas are EVER going to be a thing. Stolas has choose between Blitz and nobility or at least come to terms with what being a Noble actually means. The power he will always hold over Blitz. That Blitz's love can never be "pure" because it'll always be a question of is Blitz here cause he wants to or HAS TO. And for Blitz, does Stolas see him as an equal or a Pet and it doesn't help that Stolas repeatedly crossed Blitz's boundaries because it made Stolas happy. If he became a Noble again, would Stolas repeat this behavior?
