Chandragupta and Bindusara supported Brahmins and traditional sacrifices. Buddhist texts call Bindusara a Brahmana-bhatto who fed tens of thousands of Brahmins. His request for wine from Antiochus matches Megasthenes’ note that Indians drank wine only at sacrifices. Ashoka later banned sacrificial slaughter while still urging equal honor to Brahmins and Shramanas. The dynasty remained pluralistic across rulers.

Yes, that matches the mainstream scholarly position. Trautmann and others treat Chanakya as historical on the same level as Chandragupta, with the detailed legends (Nanda insult etc.) as later exaggerations. The Arthashastra itself is widely seen as a composite post-Mauryan text, not directly by the Mauryan advisor. Many historians across schools, including critical ones, hold this view.

“No historical evidence for Chanakya during Mauryan times”? Let’s apply that same standard globally. Many figures we study as historical lack direct lifetime records: • Gautama Buddha — Earliest inscriptional evidence appears ~200 years later (Aśokan edicts). • Jesus of Nazareth — No contemporary inscriptions; earliest texts decades later. • Pythagoras — No writings or direct records from his time; known only through later biographers. • Euclid — Life entirely reconstructed from later references; works survive, not his biography. • Zoroaster — Historicity debated; earliest textual evidence much later. • Boudica — Known only through Roman historians written after her revolt; no native records. • Romulus — Traditional founder of Rome; regarded as semi-legendary due to lack of contemporary sources. • Emperor Sponsian — Known from coins; textual silence from his own era. Yet, none of these are dismissed outright as “imagined centuries later.” They’re studied critically within their civilizational record systems. Similarly, Chanakya (Kautilya/Vishnugupta) appears in: • Arthashastra — Reflects Mauryan polity and administration. • Mahavamsa & Parishishtaparvan — Buddhist and Jain sources linking him to Chandragupta Maurya. • Mudra-Rakshasa — Later Sanskrit dramatization, not the origin of the tradition. The absence of contemporary inscriptions in India doesn’t mean absence of history — it shows a different archival culture built on oral transmission and later codification. By the same logic, if Chanakya is “fictional,” so must be Buddha, Pythagoras, and even Romulus. Critical consistency, not selective skepticism, defines true scholarship.

India advanced further earlier. Brahmagupta (628 CE) gave rules for negatives (as debts), zero, and used symbols/abbreviations for unknowns, solving quadratics including negative roots. Al-Khwarizmi (c. 820) wrote purely in words with no symbols or negative coefficients, using six positive equation types. He systematized practical methods drawing on Indian and Greek sources.

No contemporary evidence supports Chandragupta Maurya converting to Jainism. All accounts come from Digambara Jain texts and inscriptions starting around the 7th century CE, over 800 years later. The key Shravanabelagola inscription names Bhadrabahu and Prabhachandra; identifying the latter as Chandragupta is a disputed 19th-century reading rejected by scholars like Fleet. Greek sources from Megasthenes describe the king engaging in hunting, wine, and Vedic-style sacrifices, practices at odds with Jain ahimsa.

>The concept of a 3% minority oppressing 97% of the population to stop them from inventing something useful
Because of Manuwadi, not even a single needle has been invented in India to this day. These people keep crying about “merit” day and night. All of India’s major technology and automobile companies are owned by upper-caste groups, yet they have neither developed any technology nor invented any automobile. These people survive solely by exploiting the SC, ST and OBC communities.

hijabi Muslim woman named Aliya Nasreen ☪️was having an extramarital affair with a Hindu man🕉. Some friends of her Muslim husband spotted her and confronted her. They scolded her harshly, accused her of disrespecting Islam, and asked her to remove her burqa. What is your opinion on this? Why do you think she was cheating on her Muslim husband?
