AI remains a tool that must be carefully set down when outside its effective domain. For example, AI searches and coding assistants can be very helpful. They can also be woefully unaware that they are mixing incompatible strategies. Today, I was setting up an Apollo server as a route on an Express app. A lot has changed between versions 3 and 4. Wasted a lot of time trying to get AI to explain what wasn’t working. Finally broke down and just read the docs and figured it out much faster.

"So, Tyler, why did you go from never tweeting to 3 times today?" Because I want to try out Grok and X thinks I'm a robot. I have to rack up "24 hours of activity" before I can pay for the privilege.

Long ago, my handle was "stronglytyped." When I moved into Web Development a decade ago I had to downplay it. Fun to see the change as the last 2 days of #reactrally continues the front-end trend of loving on #typescript.

Finally met @mahorstman in a manager-tools.com/training/v… this week 😎. Like Manager-Tools? Get Q&A time with him. Dude either has an ocean of data behind him, or really good at on the spot BS. While the latter is likely also true ;-), I believe it is the former: data - he's got data.

To my question Mark's answer drew in multiple nuanced research threads. He leaned back thoughtfully elaborating the tapestry of thought. It hung in the air like an enchantment. He didn’t necessarily even like what he was telling us: it was the data. managerjs.com/blog/2020/12/r…
