Reading the Russell Lafitte order. I remember the deliberations on the eve of Thanksgiving and a few jurors wanted to be excused citing issues of stress. Now the government has to do an entirely new trial. Hot take: Jury service is stressful, but an essential duty of citizenship.

BREAKING ☀️ Lee Gilley — who is facing a capital murder charge in Texas for the strangulation of his wife Christa Bauer Gilley and the death of their unborn baby — has added a THIRD attorney to his (presumably) HIGH-PRICED defense team.
And .... his name is Dick (insert Murdaugh Murders gasps here because I knowwww).
Dick DeGuerin joins Bill Stradley and Edward McClees in defending Lee — who told police that Christa had KILLED HERSELF by overdosing on drugs (she didn't).
Lee was arrested after the autopsy found evidence that Christa had been strangled to death. He was released just over a week later on a $1 million bond.
Ole Lee now joins the likes of DAVID KORESH and ROBERT DURST — who were both clients of Dick.
Dick's website describes him as a "master strategist" and a "towering figure," saying he has "handled some of the most complex and high-stakes cases in Texas and beyond."
Both Lee and Christa attended Clemson University. Lee was raised overseas and in South Carolina. Christa was from Summerville, South Carolina.
It looks like we have ourselves another case of a wealthy man trying to buy his way out of consequences ... South Carolina, meet Texas ... Dick, meet Dick ... ☀️

After listening to your show today @MandyMatney it occurred to me how much money government could save if they brought in coercive control laws. You'd stop a murder, stop having to do huge investigations of murders because there'd be less murders. And no losing evidence.

A Columbus pastor accused of raping a juvenile appeared in court Tuesday and pleaded not guilty to several charges.
George Bell was indicted on 4 counts of rape and 2 counts of gross sexual imposition.
According to the indictment, the victim was under the age of 10. @10TV
