They know what they’re talking about!
The Czech Republic has officially criminalized the promotion of communist movements that suppress human rights, placing them on the same legal footing as Nazi movements. The amendment, signed by President Petr Pavel, explicitly targets anyone who establishes, supports or promotes Nazi, communist or other movements seeking to suppress fundamental freedoms or incite racial, ethnic, religious, national or class hatred. Offenders face prison sentences ranging from one to five years, with additional provisions addressing the distribution of extremist propaganda and symbols. The legislation follows decades of debate over the country's communist past. Czechoslovakia endured more than four decades of communist one-party rule, beginning in 1948 and ending with the peaceful Velvet Revolution in 1989. Supporters, including historians from the Institute for the Study of Totalitarian Regimes, argued that communist totalitarianism should be treated as seriously as Nazism under criminal law.

I just found out that Sir Patrick Stewart has died. Here is a video he made on the advice he would give to his younger self. RIP

Oh captain my captain… so sad to hear about the one and only Patrick Stewart, Star Trek’s Captain Picard! I’m not ashamed to say that I learned a lot about leadership from Next Generation episodes and it mostly drove my wonder to explore the Universe and Cosmology. Rest in Peace Captain!

At this day and age of real time data and computerized systems, there is no justification for the amount of accidents in Spain involving train collisions! These deaths are totally avoidable! Shocking.

This morning we are releasing the largest proof in the history of mathematics: A formalization of the Classification of Finite Simple Groups (CFSG)! Over 43 million lines of Lean, 715 papers and books, and 100 substantive fixes to the literature, this is truly an enormous theorem. Well done team!
The largest math proof in human history is now computer-verified. Today, Axiom announces a complete Lean auto-formalization of the Classification of Finite Simple Groups, the "periodic table of symmetry." About 15,000 pages, built by over 100 mathematicians across generations.

Comrade Lula is a manager of the highest order. He understands that the means of production cannot be left in private hands. They must be directed toward the needs of the collective. Hoarding wealth is a crime. Redistribution is mandatory. Social programs are expanded. The builders are managed. This is correct administration of the class struggle. The plan continues. ☭ 🇧🇷🇺🇸
>be Lula >get convicted of corruption >get sentenced to 12 years >get released by the STF on procedural errors >never actually acquitted lmao >beat Jair Bolsonaro in 2022 >Jair gets thrown into jail over an alleged coup attempt >Congress votes to cut his sentence >Lula vetoes it >four years later, face his son >during a debate, threaten to also lock him up if he loses the election >election day >former private lawyer, now STF judge, extends voting by 2 hours nationwide >request came from Lula's own coalition >win by 4 million votes in a runoff with no paper trail >next day, Moraes orders the losing candidate to surrender his passports >victory speech: "we're going to regulate social media" >"democracy" lmao >RIP Brazil

This protest is protesting the previous protest.
🇫🇷 France's protests are turning into something MUCH BIGGER than a weekend of unrest. Huge crowds are flooding the streets over soaring living costs and concerns about democracy. In Paris alone, police counted 110,000 demonstrators. And the movement isn't winding down. Protest organizers are already building toward a nationwide GENERAL STRIKE on November 5. What started as street protests is becoming a sustained challenge to the French government. Writer: Oliver
