What a lovely way to end our ‘Together we learn and grow’ transition week. We worked in groups with new friends to paint a flower pot, which we will add to our classroom as a sign that we too, are all going to bloom and grow in Maple Tree Class this year!

What a wonderful first book club we had today! We shared books that were all about us. We had several stories that starred Maple Tree children as characters and also a book about a very messy monster. We wonder which child that could be about?

We enjoyed our first PE lesson, where we were learning to dribble the ball with our hands, show good control and technique. We finished with a competitive relay race! #greatsankeysports

What a fabulous start to our transition week! We got to find out about our new friends, make birthday cards, explore the classroom and set goals for the next year!

We’ve had our first spelling lesson- we had to write common words on each others’ backs to see if we could recognise the spelling. 😁

We did Bubble Breathing in our Mindfulness session today- it helped us reset ready for our busy afternoon. 😀

Look at all our election candidates- they did really well persuading their voters that they’d do a good job.😄

We completed our elections for our school representatives this afternoon. We heard lots of fabulous speeches and took our votes very seriously. Congratulations to our new reps- we know you will all be amazing!👏

Some more superstars in Maple Tree today! We have the winner of this term’s reading raffle and also the top fundraisers in our school for ‘Dance for Diabetes.’ What an amazing class we have!

And the winner of Maple Tree’s Got Talent is……… this young man for his fabulous solo performance of ‘Someone you love.’ ⭐

More amazing acts from our talent show!

Maple Tree certainly has talent! We were wowed with dance, magic, singing, gymnastics, music, skipping and even pogo jumping! We were really proud of everyone who took part.

Before Elvis left, we had a lovely story with him. 🦮😀📖

We’ve had a special visitor to our class….. Mrs Franklin has brought her therapy dog, Elvis, into school to meet us.🦮😀

Thanks for these class members who brought in books for our last BOOK CLUB of the year. Our theme was SUMMER. We loved sharing them….😀📖☀️😎

We had a bocchia tournament for our last indoor PE lesson today. It was very close and we had some great tactics and sportsmanship.😊

Congratulations to these children for their achievements in cross country this year. We had an end of season party and awards ceremony to acknowledge everyone’s commitment, effort and great results we have had this season. @GtSankeyPrimary #greatsankeysports

What a great end to our science learning about plants! We worked together to fill our table cloth with everything we had learnt and then explained some of our favourite facts to the rest of the class. #greatsankeyscience
