Welcome to Mapping Disaster! A student project seeking to collect and present old postcards depicting accidents and disasters in the early 20th Century.
I stuck at it at the #postcard fair yesterday and went for quality over quantity. I found some nice local cards even though I had to travel to Surrey to get them! Here are a few of my favourites
Just a reminder for all you #postcard enthusiasts or those who might be tempted! that it’s the big Woking fair this week. It has a great range of dealers and everything starting from 20p bargains Fast and frequent trains from Waterloo, I’ll be there on Friday.
'It is sad to think that this accident was caused because he was distracted by the spectacle of an Ambulance Train; a train designed to save lives.'- Sandra Gittins, discussing the Ivybridge railway accident of 1917 in our latest blog post: railwayaccidents.port.ac.uk/…#RailwayHistory
🎼I don't like Mondays ... 🎶
Well, it's one way into the week - from one of our 2nd year student projects: do have a look & get involved if you can!

#Mondays don’t always have to feel disastrous, but when they do, why not embrace it?
