North Carolina has always been a problem for Miami… The Tar Heels have beaten the Canes five consecutive times and have won 8 of their last 11 meetings in Chapel Hill. 2023: UNC W 41-31 2022: UNC W 27-24 2021: UNC W 45-42 2020: UNC W 62-26 2019: UNC W 28-25 In 2004, #4 Miami (6-0) went to Chapel Hill and lost 31-28 to unranked UNC. In 2009, #12 Miami (7-2) went to Chapel Hill and lost 33-24 to unranked North Carolina. In 2016, #16 Miami (4-1) lost to unranked North Carolina 20-13 at home. In 2020, North Carolina demolished Top 10 Miami 62-26, putting up 778 total yards (the most Miami has ever allowed in a game in program history). In that game, running backs Michael Carter and Javonte Williams put up a combined 544 rushing yards (the most by a running back duo in a single game in College Football history, across all levels). Over the past three weeks, ELEVEN Top 10 teams have lost, including 4 teams ranked in the Top 2. In that same span, there has also been eleven ranked teams who lost to unranked opponents (one of which being UNC’s road victory over Top 25 Pitt). Will the Tar Heels keep the streak of chaotic upsets in College Football going this year and continue to be trouble for undefeated Miami?
