So grateful to @fifthwheelpress and @SadeeBee for including “The Last Will and Testament of Kassandra XXIII” in GARLAND: Issue 6. It’s apropos that this comes out in the middle of the discourse about Digger. More thoughts on that once I’ve updated my website.
a million thanks to @SadeeBee and all of our submitters and contributors to issue 6 of GARLAND 🐍 go check it out now in print or digital fifthwheelpress.com/garland

Advancing to round 2 of MF250 @nycmidnight. I thought this turned out pretty good, I’ll need to look into venues that publish historical microfiction.

Rumors of my retirement have been greatly exaggerated @nycmidnight. It’s typically a good sign if I’m satisfied with my entry and there’s a whole day left on the clock.

I was a little worried I might DNF this one, but I think I managed something serviceable enough for a first round. Comedy tends to be kind to me, at least. @nycmidnight

My only unique contribution to Dune 2 discourse is the observation that if this film came out in the 90s we’d have unprecedented levels of movie tie-ins. You can’t tell me it wasn’t a missed opportunity to have ads plugging the Nissan Al-Gaib.

Two years ago I wanted to prove to I was good enough to be part of the literary world, so I entered a contest to find out where I stood. That act of faith turned out to be the most consequential decision of my writing career. Take the plunge. 100 words could change your life.
The 5th annual 100-word Microfiction Challenge kicks off on April 19th, and registration is now open! Writers worldwide will be challenged to create very short stories in 24 hours. Learn more, register, & read previous winners at nycmidnight.com/100. Good luck, writers!

I’d have downloaded a character template for my @NQWpodcast entry, but I wasn’t sure which one matched for “writes in the hopes that the cool kids will like him.”

My entry for the #500WordChallenge2023 finals has got to be my most challenging and ambitious yet @nycmidnight, but as a result it was also the most personally rewarding entry to write. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing what all comes from the other 124 finalists.

Believe it or not, I still haven’t placed first in an elimination round @nycmidnight, but I’m glad to be part of the inaugural finals for the 500-word Fiction Challenge.

I’ve missed too many submission calls the last few weeks, so I’ve finally up and got myself on the place where the skies are blue, same handle @MarconiNicholas. I’m not leaving Twitter until it’s fully pay to play, but it’s not like we all don’t know the writing’s on the wall.

I was worried about how the #500WordChallenge2023 would feel, but I was pleasantly surprised by the format. @nycmidnight hit a home run, as it lets you tell a more in-depth story than micro while not feeling like you’re having to pad like flash. Even my first prompt was great!

This is the first time I’ve been assigned my primary genre as an author for @nycmidnight. Most authors: “I wonder what wholesome things I can write about milkshakes in the future with sci-fi…” Me, pretty much whenever I write:
