US taxpayers are the world's most generous 'charitable donor,' whether we like it or not. Uncle Sam reaches into our paycheck every year and ships off roughly 2% of our federal taxes straight into the great global giving bowl: foreign aid, humanitarian distributions, nation-building adventures, and whatever else the bureaucracy calls 'compassion.'
Forced philanthropy at "gunpoint." No opt-out. No thank-you card. No warm fuzzy feeling. Just us, involuntarily funding somebody else's village well, refugee program, or strategic ally's defense budget while our own country & citizens suffer.
Since govt mandates this 'charity' through the IRS like some compulsory tithe to the Church of Good Intentions, then taxpayers damn well deserve an itemized deduction for it. Line it up right next to mortgage interest and medical expenses. Let every working stiff calculate their exact slice of that 2% and write it off.
Govt shouldn't be in the "Funding Foundation" business. (Otherwise known as the global criminal enterprise)
If the feds are gonna play Robin Hood with our money on the world stage, the least they can do is stop pretending it's not coming out of our hide.
