San Francisco Fire Department – Bay Rescue - BOAT COLLISION This morning at 6:10 AM, SFFD, SFPD Marine Unit, USCG, Southern Marin Fire, Sausalito Fire, and Fire Boat Liberty responded to the Golden Gate Bridge for reports of a 25-foot fishing vessel that struck rocks with 3 people on board with injuries. Units determined the incident to be on the north side of the bridge in Marin County's jurisdiction. All three individuals were rescued and are receiving paramedic care. SFPD Marine Unit transported the subjects to Marin County Shoreline, where they received continued care. Refer to Southern Marin Fire and the United States Coast Guard for further information related to this incident. All SFFD units have cleared. No impacts to San Francisco at this time. This type of quick, multi-agency coordination is the direct result of ongoing joint training. SFFD regularly trains alongside our Bay Area partners including the U.S. Coast Guard, SFPD Marine Unit, Sausalito Fire, Southern Marin Fire, Tiburon Fire, and Central Marin Fire for water rescue and Golden Gate Bridge response scenarios. That includes marine drills, unified command exercises, and shared radio communication systems, so when a call comes in near jurisdictional lines, all agencies are operating from the same playbook. For incidents at the Golden Gate Bridge where the county line divides the bay, this training allows us to rapidly determine jurisdiction, assign rescue and medical roles, and safely transfer patient care without delay.
