As the anniversary of his death approaches, we’re reflecting on the life & legacy of Jonathan D. Daniels, MD ’98, a tireless advocate for diversity, a deeply respected #UBuffalo mentor & a beloved #WNY community member.

Oh you’re going to a teaching hospital in July? Well get ready…
for the most compassionate care from extremely empathetic interns along with their vigilant supervising attendings. Hope you like open ended questions and doctors listening to you bc you’re gonna drown in it.

Spotify wrapped is cool and all but what I really want is an EPIC wrapped.

After working with Dr. Liveris as an intern on the trauma service, I agree! A wonderful teacher and superstar surgeon.

Got a DVT in their frozen shoulder
If it breaks off and decides to embolize
They won't thrive
You just need to wait 4.5 more years 🥰

“Women can do anything. We bring heart and hope.” #NationalWomenPhysiciansDay – at Wahiawa, HI
One of my favorite OR photos. Almost 8 months pregnant after repairing a stabbed heart.
Women can do anything. We bring heart and hope. We haven’t always been welcome or wanted in medicine but we are here and we are thriving and so are our patients. #NationalWomenPhysiciansDay
I spent the past two days operating with amazing female attendings and chief residents. TWO full days of an all women surgical team. Being surrounded by exceptional women surgeons, who are also wonderful teachers, is so so motivating.

Attendings: never underestimate the power of reaching out to residents after tough/sad cases, showing your emotions, and even processing them with us. As trainees, we have so much to learn from how you cope with these and what keeps you going afterwards.

Today the No Surprises Act goes into effect, which will shield insured patients from surprise out-of-network bills from in-network institutions. Shout-out to @MerilAnn, who helped write the policy in her capacity as a Presidential Management Fellow. Def worth a follow.
