GREEN MEALIE MANAGEMENT TIPS IN UNDER A MINUTE! With @WendyMadzura Let's Go! 1, 2, 3, 4… 60 SECONDS! 1 Nutrition Management: Ensure adequate nitrogen and potassium supply to support vigorous growth, healthy cobs and quality grain filling. 2 Insect Pest Management: Scout regularly for Fall Armyworm (FAW) and other pests. Take timely action before they damage your crop and compromise cob quality. 3 Irrigation Scheduling: Monitor soil moisture and irrigate strategically, especially during periods of high temperatures and heat units. Avoid moisture stress during cob development. 4 Market Readiness: Plan your harvesting, transport and market linkages in advance to hit the optimum green mealie selling window and maximise returns. Remember: Grow for the market, harvest at the right time and sell for maximum value! Appropriate food preservation is 1 strategy that would mitigate the impact of drought. This is one area which we have not focused on to the required extent as a nation. The losses farmers are currently incurring (especially of perishables) could be addressed through preservation.

What would a national drought mitigation strategy look like if the market has more sellers than buyers? If excess food continues to be thrown away due to low buying power and high temperatures? Whose role is it to stimulate consumer buying power? Meanwhile, the amount and diversity of food flowing into mass markets indicate farmers are not giving up. All they need is support from other value chain actors so that they continue feeding the nation irrespective of the Super Elnino. @eMKambo @MoLAFWRD_Zim @obertjiri @WendyMadzura @MaminiminiObert @FAOZimbabwe @faosfsafrica @GMBdura

💧 Why does irrigation scheduling matter? Because watering smarter means growing better! When you schedule your irrigation, you: ✅ Cut crop water stress and boost yields ✅ Save on water and labor with fewer irrigations ✅ Spend less on fertilizer by reducing runoff and leaching ✅ Earn more from higher yields and better crop quality ✅ Avoid water-logging by easing drainage needs Don't just water your crops, schedule it. Your soil, your pocket and your harvest will thank you. 🌱 What's your irrigation routine? Share it in the comments! 👇 #IrrigationScheduling #SmartFarming #WaterManagement #Agronomy

THE FARMERS, BAKERS AND BUTCHERS BEHIND INNSCOR’S BEST YEAR For the farmers who grow for Innscor, the year to June 2026 was one of scale. Through its Paperhole Investments and Agrowth programmes, the group put about US$16.5 million behind 200 commercial and small-scale farmers for the summer season. Across winter 2025 and summer 2025/26 they planted roughly 9,250 hectares of wheat, maize and soya beans and harvested about 62,000 tonnes of grain and oilseed. Another 4,500 hectares of wheat went into the ground this winter, with around 31,000 tonnes expected. Read more here:👇👇👇 marichomedia.com/the-farmers… @InnscorAfrica @MoLAFWRD_Zim

Last week in Cologne I showed how you can use the GitHub Copilot App and Foundry to build an agent you can deploy across Teams, Outlook or an app of your choice. I also showed how you can integrate our new Decision 1 model for intent classification. I'm interested in agents that can recognise intent and then take action independetly if they decide they can be helpful, so this was fun to show!

Bae U to Dangote: you don’t have to stand, sit down, it’s fine. Most of the interviews we see you in are on the platforms that my generation doesn’t watch. I think it’s high time we had the man with the biggest refinery on the biggest show on YouTube. Curiosity made me ask, when do you think we can have you, sir? Dangote:
