Our Kickstarter launches Sept. 15, and we recruited a killer lineup of authors to write new stories for us.
The first to agree was HUGH HOWEY, author of WOOL, SHIFT, & DUST, the basis of the Apple+ series SILO.

Strange Horizons is fully funded ‼️
As it stands, we will only be able to offer 8c/word for fiction, down from the 10c/word in recent years.
We want to keep those rates through our stretch goals:
$25,000 - 9c/word
$30,000 - 10c/word

We hope you love what we do! Please donate to keep us publishing in 2027! We literally can't do it without you.

ALT Look for me. It starts with this: a distant figure, high and away in the finest private box. Look for me. A pull of magnetism, as thin and strong as filigree wire. It starts at the woman with the opera glasses, who sits gazing at the stage from on high, and ends with the woman who stands there watching, struck thunderbolt-still in the stalls. Search me out. Go on. Imagine if you were looking for me with those.
