Inflation in Turkey. Seven years ago 55,000 lira got you a car. Today it gets you a phone.
Turkish exports to Russia surge to all-time high - state media
Noticed this was the top news item on Anadolu's Turkish news website a few mins ago, but can't even be found on its economy page now

Why are Turkey's stocks rallying to record levels? Well, there's nothing else that makes a profit (bonds, Bitcoin) and it's 'blood money' for Erdoğan refusing to sanction Putin
Turkish interest rates on business loans dive after central bank action
The biggest Turkish rate cut is here. More arm twisting of banks, who must be swimming in a quagmire of regulatory changes

A travesty. It seems other institutions in Turkey are developing the same affliction as the Presidency, Finance Ministry and Central Bank

We were a year too late. A plaque says it was restored in 2021 by the provincial authority. It now looks like this. (First pic mine, second from the interwebs because I didn’t have the heart to walk down for the full view.)
Istanbul inflation hits 99.9 percent

I'm not sure who is publishing more info on these ships - Reuters or Turkey's government. Surely the news value of this is diminishing fast

Turkey and Erdogan have no intention of abiding by the EU's common rules. This is just rhetoric designed to bash the West, look hard done by, and win votes

I guess we'll never know how much the likely swap deal between the Russian and Turkish central banks is worth, or whatever bailout Putin is giving Erdogan.
If there's 1 leader Putin will want to stay in power, it's Erdogan

2/ Erdogan by difference seems to be going out of his way to boost trade with Russia, to help Russia ride thru sanctions and benefit and profit from this at the same time. Not a good look.
Erdogan has kept repeating that "the world is bigger than 5" (UN Security Council). He sees Putin as a gateway to more global power for Turkey, perhaps alongside more alignment with China. Do you want to sell this guy your latest weapons? Is their technology safe?

Private clinics/hospitals around Antalya have a reputation for charging extortionate medical bills to tourists. This could be a latest example. Best recourse may be local consulate @CharliellJones

Their Just Giving fundraiser is no longer accepting donations so one might assume treatment over and the bills are covered

I am not saying all Turkish private clinics in tourism zones are bad, but please try to check Google reviews thorougly for warnings
Unsuspecting and vulnerable tourists are usually referred to the clinics by hotels. They have an ambulance/small medical facility nearby, then refer patients to larger private facilities if considered appropriate @CharliellJones
