Let me see if I can complete the investigation for Cambridge:
1) You set out to hire a token black guy;
2) You didn't look too closely at his teaching qualifications or academic publications because you didn't want to know;
3) You didn't question his preposterous biographical claims because you are fans, right down your racist core, of the Magical Negro;
4) You are too cowardly to own up to what happened.
***begin excerpt***
The University of Cambridge has abandoned plans to fully investigate its hiring of Jason Arday, the professor who became a lightning rod in the debate over diversity-and-inclusion efforts in higher education, following his abrupt death last month.
Instead, the university said, the inquiry will examine whether the school offered him sufficient support amid accusations that he plagiarized portions of his doctoral thesis and embellished his personal narrative. Dr. Arday may come up as part of a broader look at university hiring practices, but he will not be a focus.
That marks an abrupt shift from the plan announced this summer, when the school’s vice chancellor, Deborah Prentice, promised a “thorough and transparent” investigation into Dr. Arday’s appointment.

Fess up. You may not want anything bad to happen to President Trump personally, but after he leaves office, you won't be too disappointed if a future Congress votes to strip him of his Secret Service detail... and let the chips fall where they may.
Why didn't the "mentalist" see this coming?

Friends (virtual and real life) have been inquiring about my health. It's good, all things considered. But if you're hankering for the gory details, here's my recent Substack post....

Not sure it's possible to lay out the moral logic of #Israel versus #Gaza (and I don't mean "versus" merely in the battlefield sense) more plainly than than #SamHarris does.

Whenever anyone, in virtually any context, refers to “stolen land,” think “conquered land.” And in the case of Israel, those conquests came in defensive wars.
If you click on enough Palestinian activists/apologists on X, you do get a sense of the witlessness and gullibility of the Arab Street… and a reminder of why generations will need to pass before a Palestinian state is worth discussing.
History of the last 75 years in the Middle East:
Palestinians: "Allahu akbar!"
Palestinians, one week later: "Waaaaaaah, they hurted us!"
United Nations: "Bad Jews! Bad, bad Jews!"
Palestinians: "Your time is coming! Just you wait!"
Rinse. Repeat.
Let's take it from the top, one more time: "trans women" are in reality men, and "trans men" are in reality women, and no regimen of hormone therapy, cosmetic surgery, and clicking together of ruby slippers will alter that fact. Neither will redefinitions of the terms, unless you also want to recast scientific truths such as identical twins always being the same sex--if that's still true, then sexual classification must be determined by genes, and it must be immutable.
The problem for progressives who've pushed this idiocy for decades is that there's no going back, even though our collective sanity is returning--as it always does. Too many parents have been told that supporting their kids means standing aside as they're sterilized and mutilated. "Oops" isn't going to cut it when the betrayal is this profound.
So what can you do except double-down and ride the lie until it collapses under the weight of its own absurdity?

#NoKings amounted to millions of Americans taking to the streets in support of the straw man fallacy.
I'm sticking with my opinion that #AaronJudge is the best player in baseball. But #ShoheiOhatni is number two... and number three.
The Gaza ceasefire is a hopeful development, and I like that @realDonaldTrump is saying that if Hamas doesn't quickly disarm, we'll disarm them. But when will the war between Israelis and Palestinians really end? When the Resistance clown car on social media--the ululating fellow travelers, pink-haired useful idiots, Baghdad Bob wannabes, STFU brigades, and keyboard jihadis--begin posting cat photos.
If only Americans had better critical-thinking skills, we'd elect politicians who would do exactly what I want them to do.
No one is arguing that the conflict between Arabs and Israelis over the creation of the Jewish state began on 10/7/23. It's been ongoing since at least 1948--sometimes as a traditional war fought between Israel and Muslim-majority nations, but more often as a series of Arab terrorist attacks and limited Israeli retaliations.
What happened on 10/7/23 is that the terrorists landed a haymaker-type punch, and the gloves came off in the Israeli retaliation. Rather than merely smacking around the usual hapless barbarians, Israel is administering a serious butt-whupping to the morally depraved society that keeps vomiting up the terrorists.
The fact that scores of millions of useful idiots worldwide fling around words like "genocide" and "apartheid" does not change the reality on the ground. Israel is fighting a just war, using just means. The only way to win that war is to crush its enemies once and for all, even if the fighting continues until Hamas runs out of toddlers to hide behind. It's the only way to achieve a lasting peace.
Periodic reminder: if you launch an animalistic, orgiastic terror attack against a much stronger neighbor, offering to return the hostages you took along the way isn't going to square things. You're going to get crushed.
