📢 [INDEPENDENT] 📢 David Sacks admits the GOP "lost all the podcast bros": Rogan, Tucker, Theo Von, Megyn Kelly. Turns out treating your biggest megaphones like disposable props comes with a bill. Who could've seen that coming?
David Sacks reveals how the GOP alienated Joe Rogan and alternative media
SACKS: "We lost all the podcast bros. I mean, obviously, it was Tucker Carlson and Joe Rogan and Theo Von and that whole set. Megyn Kelly. So, you know, a house divided against itself cannot stand. I mean, we lost a huge part of our base. And I would say that the Republicans in particular are dependent on the podcast circuit. Let's call it alternative media. Why? Because the mainstream media hates us. Legacy media hates us. They will never give us a fair shot. And they're 90% left. So it is what it is."
"Yeah. And I think one of the reasons why Trump produced such a resounding victory in 2024 is he appealed to that whole podcasting circuit. And frankly, we should have done a better job giving them all front row seats in the White House press room. We should have stayed connected to all of them because they are our media."
"By the way, they don't work for us. They're willing to defect, obviously. They have their own opinions. But we have to pay attention. I think our side has to pay a lot of attention to them because without them, we don't have any media that supports us. So I think that losing them was a big deal. It fueled the sense. And I think that a lot of those people showed up and then did a protest vote because they wanted to send the message that they want out of this war."
📰 [MAINSTREAM] 📰 Iran's Revolutionary Guard says its self-imposed 2,000 km missile range cap is gone: "That restriction has been lifted for us." No word on whether longer-range missiles exist; they'll show it "on the battlefield." Bluff or blueprint? apnews.com/article/mideast-n…
🚨 BREAKING 🚨: [MAINSTREAM] Kraków Main Square: gunman fired at random, killing 6, incl. a Briton, and wounding ~15. Suspect, 25, Polish, shot and detained; officials cite far-right views. PM Tusk: 3 more bodies, likely family, found at his home. bbc.com/news/articles/c6n9r0…
📢 [INDEPENDENT] 📢 Many backed these people. They were saying the right things, and a lot of us were all in. Now I'm just baffled. What were they told? What did they hear? What were they threatened with to join the dark side? They bent the knee. They kissed the ring. Now they are the Sith.
📢 [INDEPENDENT] 📢 Calley Means went on Rogan and named names. Means says Susie Wiles' daughter's firm, Continental Strategy, went from almost zero revenue to about $30M a year, and "you pay Susie's daughter." On the record: Katie Wiles was promoted there the day after her mom became chief of staff, per the Jacksonville paper.
Mom runs the White House, daughter runs the lobbying shop next door. Drain the swamp, they said. Turns out it just got a family membership. Even if only half of what Means says holds up, this is exactly the kind of thing people voted against.
Calley Means just went on Joe Rogan and blew up at Susie Wiles for destroying MAHA.
“She spent her career taking money from Benjamin Netanyahu.”
“The pharmaceutical industry.”
“The pesticide industry.”
“Trump’s administration has been infiltrated by the very people that he energized voters to say he would get out of DC.”
“Susie Wiles is the most powerful chief of staff in modern American history.”
“She has a couple of deputies.”
“James Blair … long-term political consultant.”
“He’s taken a lot of money from … special interests.”
“The sugar industry.”
“Walker Barrett.”
“Susie’s neighbor in Florida.”
“Junior guy, but extremely powerful.”
“Richard Walters.”
“A kind of mid-level fundraiser.”
“He came from a lobbying firm … that lobbied for pesticides.”
“Lobbied for pharma.”
“These are the most powerful people in the country.”
“Tony Fabrizio.”
“He takes money from Pepsi.”
“He takes money from pharmaceutical companies.”
“He takes money from almost every single industry we’re fighting against right now to this day.”
“Susie’s daughter became a lobbyist.”
“The group Susie’s daughter worked for had almost zero in revenue before the Trump administration.”
“Shot up to $30-ish million a year in revenue.”
“If you’re a special interest and you want to get something done, the secret’s out.”
“You pay Susie’s daughter.”
“And then Susie worked at a firm called Ballard Partners.”
“Ballard Partners has become the highest revenue-generation lobbying firm in history.”
“If you hire Ballard, you get a meeting with Susie.”
“And you can get things done.”
Joe Rogan: “Is this normal?”
Means: “This is how it works for 30 years.”

A Greek-managed oil products tanker was hit in the Gulf on Thursday, and one seafarer is dead. The Marshall Islands-flagged MT Velos Sapphire was sailing empty toward Bahrain when an explosion the manager says is believed to be from a missile attack tore into the ship. The crew put the fire out. No other injuries. No pollution reported. The ship is now at Bahrain's Khalifa Bin Salman Port while investigators assess the hull.
Velos Tankers said the missing crew member was later found fatally injured on board. Reuters and DW both have the manager's confirmation. Who fired is still not publicly named. This is separate from earlier unverified claims about Iranian mines on other tankers.
One sailor dead on a products tanker in the Gulf, and the strait file just got heavier.

President Trump just named Stephen Miller White House chief of staff, replacing Susie Wiles. Miller, currently deputy chief of staff for policy and a homeland security adviser, takes over Monday, November 9. Wiles moves to the Trump Political Operation. Trump called her work "outstanding." Wiles said Friday is her last day as chief of staff and called the White House job the honor of a lifetime.
The timing is the story. Three days after Democrats flipped the House and Senate, Trump elevates the architect of his hard-line immigration push. Mid-October he said there was "zero chance" he was considering a Wiles replacement after Politico and Washington Post reports. Now the chance is 100%. Incoming Democrats have already vowed to probe deportation policy. Miller is about to become their daily target.
After a midterm wipeout, most presidents moderate. Trump just did the opposite.

One Lakewood, Colorado police agent died and three agents plus one civilian were wounded Thursday evening after a suspect opened fire on an RTD Route 76 bus at West Colfax and Wadsworth. Officers had responded to a suspicious person boarding the bus around 6:30 p.m. local. The suspect fired within seconds; police returned fire; the suspect died on scene. Police are looking at a possible earlier hit-and-run link. Lakewood PD said the surviving agents and civilian had injuries ranging from serious to critical. Denver Health later said its patients from the scene had been discharged overnight (home or transfer unclear). Names have not been released as of Friday midday.
A routine bus call turned deadly in seconds. Holding the Lakewood PD family close.

Wall Street just had its worst day since April 2025's tariff shock, and Asia closed in freefall. Nasdaq sank 5.5% into correction. S&P 500 fell 4.4% and wiped about $3 trillion in market value. Dow dropped about 1,833 points. The Magnificent Seven alone lost more than $1 trillion, with Nvidia off more than 9% and about $440 billion in market cap. Chip names got crushed: AMD and Micron both double-digit losers.
Friday in Asia finished the job. South Korea's Kospi plunged as much as 8.7% and triggered a circuit breaker, then closed down 6.02%. Japan's Nikkei fell 5.96% and entered bear-market territory, more than 20% off its June peak. Taiwan's Taiex dropped about 9% at the open (its steepest intraday fall on record) and closed down 4.51%. Investors are pricing in a slower AI data-center buildout after Democrats flipped Congress, on top of shaky returns on the huge AI spend already booked.
Into the US open, futures tried to bounce. Nasdaq 100 futures were up about 1.3% to 1.6%, S&P 500 futures about 0.2% to 0.3%, while Dow futures stayed soft around minus 0.9%. Chip names recovered in premarket: Nvidia about plus 4.5%, with AMD, Micron and peers up roughly 4% to 8%. October jobs came in strong (about 165,000); yields jumped and futures barely budged on the print. Cash open still has to prove the bounce is real.
Worst US day in 19 months, Asia hits the pause button, then a shaky futures bounce. The AI trade just found out elections have a bill.

Trump sat with his national security team on Iran today for the first time since the midterms, then told reporters in the Oval Office a decision is coming "soon" on whether to resume major strikes. Axios, citing U.S. officials, says he is weighing three paths: new strikes, keep squeezing Tehran economically, or cut a deal that includes significant concessions. CENTCOM is finishing prep for possible major operations but has no new order yet. The USS Theodore Roosevelt strike group stops in Singapore Friday and would not reach the region before mid-November.
"I would rather not destroy the rest of the country if possible, but maybe I will have to. You'll know soon enough."
Midterms over. War decision next. The whole world is waiting on one sentence.

At least 25 flights across Europe got hit with hoax threats today. Planes from Ryanair, Aer Lingus, Wizz Air, Finnair, easyJet and others diverted or made emergency landings across Italy, Ireland, the UK, Spain, Poland, Finland and more. Fighter jets escorted some into landing. Every plane landed safely. Searches found nothing.
Heathrow got alerts on four aircraft. Met Police checked them out and found no security issues. Same story at Birmingham. This week's tally is over 30 flights disrupted. Some emails to Rome and Sofia airports were signed "fighters of the Male State," a Russian far-right group. Investigators say there's still no proof a state actor is behind it.
Someone's trying to rattle European air travel without packing a single device. Cheap chaos, expensive diversions.

🔬 SCIENCE 🔬
Mars might not be as dead as we thought. ESA's ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter caught recurring hydrogen chloride gas seeping over Alba Mons, the Red Planet's widest volcano, during the cold season when that gas usually vanishes. A Science Advances paper says the detections line up with fresh, meter-wide fissures that could be vents from magma still simmering underground. Not an erupting volcano. More like a sleeping giant that still breathes.
So much for "geologically dead." The rocks under Alba Mons appear to have other plans.

A postal worker is in custody after police say she shot two co-workers at the main post office in Des Moines, Iowa this morning. A third employee was hurt trying to get out. Calls came in around 9:10 a.m. local from the second floor, a non-public part of the building. Police say all three injuries are non-life-threatening, and officers were there within three minutes. No names or motive yet; ATF agents are on scene.
"We were able to get here and stop the killing before it got any worse," said Des Moines police Sgt. Paul Parizek.
Fast response, nobody killed. That's the one piece of good news in a story that keeps repeating.

📰 [MAINSTREAM] 📰 Paraguay's central bank just took over Ueno Bank, a digital lender with more than 3 million customers in a country of about 6.4 million people.
What's confirmed:
- Accounts frozen, and withdrawals from mutual funds tied to Ueno suspended Wednesday
- The central bank chief, Carlos Carvallo, who used to run Ueno, resigned at President Santiago Peña's request
- Peña was a business partner of Ueno's owning group until March 2025
- Prosecutors ordered 8 executives and businessmen arrested
- The Senate unanimously passed a law paying depositors up to 40 minimum wages each (about 121 million guaraníes, roughly $20,000), starting Thursday and done within 5 business days
Half a country locked out of its bank and the guy in charge used to run it. Almost zero coverage up here. Funny how that works. apnews.com/article/paraguay-…
📰 [MAINSTREAM] 📰 Kansas just sent a Democrat to the U.S. Senate for the first time since 1932.
Adam Hamilton, a Methodist megachurch pastor who founded the largest United Methodist church in the country, beat GOP Sen. Roger Marshall about 50.9% to 46.0% with 98% counted. That's a state Trump carried by 16 points in 2024, and he rallied there twice for Marshall in the final weeks.
Marshall conceded Tuesday night quoting Proverbs: "I don't have any answers." Hamilton is sworn in Jan. 3.

📰 [MAINSTREAM] 📰 Trump, asked about Vance blaming the midterm loss on the Iran war: "I think it's largely true because it drove the gasoline up a little bit short term."
Then: "As far as that war is concerned, I would have done nothing different." He says he'd do it again because "you can't let Iran have a nuclear weapon," says he's "OK" with Vance's post, and is keeping Hegseth.
Meanwhile CBS reports oil is still running 60 to 70% above prewar prices, with tankers still hitting mines in Hormuz.
So the war cost them Congress, and the plan is... "we continue to do it"? Bold strategy. What's your read? cbsnews.com/live-updates/ira…
📰 [MAINSTREAM] 📰 A "1 in 1,000 year" flood hit Florida's Space Coast on midterm eve. 100+ rescues in Brevard, airboats pulling people from homes, state of emergency in 7 counties, polling places moved. Voting in FL today? Check your precinct before you paddle there. floridatoday.com/story/news/…
⚠️ [UNVERIFIED] ⚠️ Iran's IRGC Navy says three oil tankers hit mines and are burning in the Strait of Hormuz after switching off their transponders on an "unauthorized" route. It also says it downed two US LUCAS drones over Bandar-e Khamir. That's per the IRGC's own statement, no independent confirmation yet, and no ships named. CENTCOM rejected similar claims last week. anews.com.tr/middle-east/202…
