"May we learn to listen to your wounds & walk together." What walk has there been between the Comboni Order and the CSG? We hope the meeting this week between the CSG & the Comboni Order's Superior Gen, Vic. Gen & Card Nichols & Bishop Stock will bring a walk together closer.

Speaking to survivors of abuse by members of the church, Pope Leo says: The church kneels with you today before our Mother. May we learn to protect the most vulnerable with tenderness! May we learn to listen to your wounds & walk together.

With Cardinal Timothy Dolan anointing Charlie Kirk the new St. Paul, I thought I'd take the opportunity to return to the scene of the crime and remind people who Dolan is and what he did, and did not do, in the depths of the Catholic sex abuse crisis. youtu.be/cSnLbdpG4aA

"The Vatican has its own court system, most allegations are never heard beyond its walls. Yet, there are many cases of sexual abuse involving nuns. Statistically, a study of 14,000 nuns found a staggering 1 in 3 of them experienced some form of abuse." thatshelf.com/nuns-vs-the-va…

"Many of Denham's victims have taken their own lives and one of the deaths sparked the child abuse royal commission. Denham's crimes occurred mostly at Newcastle's St Pius X College, now known as Trinity College, in the 1970s and early '80s."

"Rupnik was excommunicated in 2020 for absolving the sins of a novice with whom he had sex. But that excommunication was lifted within the same month after Rupnik repented."
Nuns vs the Vatican is a sensitive and unsettling documentary following women whose sexual abuse allegations were long ignored by the Catholic church, and the broader system that protects and enables predators within. theguardian.com/film/2025/se…

"The suspended sentence handed down to Father Rolando Leo is shocking. (He) will not serve a single day in prison." ..& the Italian Comboni Nardo who criminally abused me & others has, as far as I am aware, never been questioned by the Italian Judiciary. retelabuso.org/2025/08/27/gi…

Comboni Nardo "carefully selected his victims." Nardo was also a well liked and respected cleric in his Italian home town of Prata di Sopra.

Probably the hard part about the IICSA rejection for many - I know it is for me - is the reliving of their childhood abuse because of the inaction of government and religious institutions to truly redress what took place.
The UK Government has rejected IICSA (Independent Inquiry Child Sexual Abuse)’s recommendation to establish a Redress Scheme, despite its potential to offer recognition and reparations to survivors who cannot access civil justice. abuseadvice4survivors.co.uk/…

In my case I have dealt the best way I can in relation to the abuse that I experienced by the Italian Comboni Missionary Priest Romano Nardo, however, it has been harder to deal with the Comboni Institution continued responses towards that abuse.
