Sources: No. 8 BYU’s star tailback, LJ Martin, will be out for at least a month with a lower body injury he suffered against TCU. He was the Big 12 offensive player of the year in 2025. He’ll miss four to six weeks, including the home against No. 3 Notre Dame on Oct. 17.

Utah plays two quarterbacks at once. One throws right-handed. The other is left-handed. Both can run.
And defenses don't have an answer.

Medium-term bottom on bonds today. Buying TLT calls. We needed to break above the 5.03% yield on the 10-year to shake out the weak hands. Millions in sell orders sat just beyond that. All were triggered today. Big players will now start buying. Bonds rally from here.

BYU RB Sione Moa is out with a torn MCL and PCL, he reveals on Instagram.
That’s a brutally upsetting loss to the Cougars depth after the RB came back from compartment syndrome of the thigh last year to be healthy by the season opener. Time table for return TBD.

The homebuilder market is in its biggest recession since 2009.
Months of supply for homes under construction is now 14.8 months. Permitted homes not yet started have surged to a record 21.3 months.
Both are similar or worse than the 2008-09 housing bust.
Suggesting that future demand for new construction is in the tank.
The one exception is completed spec homes, where the months of supply is just 3.9 months.
Builders can still sell move-in-ready inventory, especially when paired with mortgage rate buydowns and incentives.
But anything further out in the pipeline is piling up.
The result: builders are struggling to justify tomorrow's construction, and this builder recession is likely to get worse. Don't be surprised if we see a big pullback in starts at some point.

Straits of Hormuz Official Vessel Counts
Okay ladies and gents, we’re at an end of the copium and hopium and flat out opium y’all been smoking since the Straits “opened.” Acting like 80 million-trillion barrels will be here next week. I got a rude awakening for you.
Attached is a graph of the official vessel counts that have pass through the SOH.
A slight up-tick, to be sure. A return to normal? Are you kidding?
Physics prevents it.
So now US Reserves are on a razor’s edge and no one is preparing for it.

🚨🇺🇸 US is draining its emergency oil reserve to keep the lights on.
Every commercial tank is already near empty.
🔸US crude inventories have crashed below the 5 year range, down toward 410M barrels.
🔸Cushing, the WTI delivery hub, sits near 19M. That's effectively tank-bottoms.
🔸Gasoline and distillate stocks are below their seasonal ranges too. The entire barrel is tight.
🔸Total commercial oil stock has slid under the 5 year range to 1.20 billion barrels.
Then the SPR....
It's been drained sharply to 330M, an emergency release to absorb the Hormuz shock.
US production is near a record 13.8 mb/d.
Refinery runs are above the 5 year range at 17 mb/d.
Record output, record refining, and stocks are still collapsing.
Demand and exports are pulling harder than both.
I highlighted the reason in my latest article , link in the below comments👇

ICYMI, here’s the 47-page Big 12 federal court lawsuit that no doubt blindsided Texas Tech and the Texas AG. Filed by powerhouse law firm Sidley Austin in the Northern District of Texas.

NEWS: The Big 12 has filed a legal complaint in federal court against Texas Tech & the Texas AG, seeking declaratory judgement and a preliminary injunction to enforce its bylaws and potentially sanction the school for its plans to play Brendan Sorsby.

As a veteran Texas litigator who has fought my fair share of TRO/TI battles, several things to be aware of regarding the temporary injunction order issued to allow Brendan Sorsby to play for Texas Tech this season:
(1) The temporary injunction obtained by Sorsby is valid through the date of trial. So by setting the trial date for after the college football season ends the Lubbock County state district court effectively awards Sorsby ultimate relief; he can play the full season under the TI, excluding only the first two games carved out in the text of the TI order.
(2) In Texas a TI is subject to immediate (“interlocutory”) appeal. The appeal will go to the 7th Court of Appeals in Amarillo, Texas.
(3) The problem with the appeal is that even an accelerated appeal of the TI order is likely to take at least 9 to 12 months, meaning the college football season will be long over before the Amarillo Court of Appeals affirms or vacates the TI.
(4) The only way the interlocutory appeal of the TI order gets resolved before the college football season ends is if the Amarillo Court of Appeals orders expedited briefings and decides the appeal “on the papers” without oral argument. But even such an expedited appeal is likely to run well into the college football season.
(5) At bottom, as Diego Pavia and now Brendan Sorsby illustrate, these sort of emergency injunctive proceedings are a huge problem for the NCAA: hometown judges (in Texas elected at the county level) err on the side of granting the TI to allow the key player to play for Hometown U, and the college football season is much shorter than the appellate process. So the preliminary ruling on the emergency injunction effectively decides the entire case and, if granted, allows the player to play a full season.

$ONDS (weekly) — Breakout confirmed. First target is $16, and yes, $42 is the next one after that.
We may get a retest of the broken diagonal, and that's the cherry on top—also the spot where I'd add or start a position. Risk/reward from there is absolutely beautiful.
Looking solid so far after a solid period of consolidation.
🐋 $ONDS Whale Watch | Price $13.22
Everything was flat for the first week — then May 26 happened. Calls across the entire ladder launched simultaneously, with $13 and $12 calls leading the charge to $3M+.
That kind of broad, synchronized surge doesn't come from retail.
Price at $13.22 is right at the dominant strike. The $9 puts are barely negative and never grew — bears are absent.
🎯 Launch confirmed. Whales waited, then moved all at once. Price followed.
Does $ONDS hold above $13 and use it as the new floor, or was that the spike?

As of right now given the state of sports economy I think the @bigten and the @SEC will each add two schools. The @Big12Conference might add one maybe two. @theacc are set to add @USFFootball @GreenWaveFB @UConnMBB @MemphisFB and @army and @navy in football only plus @NDFootball getting to pick their own 5 opponents @espn wants the ACC to survive b/c of cost is reasonable.
