The October reading of Consumer Confidence is 91.7, up 7.5 points from a revised higher September reading, which however remains a twelve year low.
The Index had been expected to fall by nine tenths, which would have been 81.0. It is the highest reading since June.
Both main components jumped higher. Present Situation rose more than eight points up to 120.4 and Expectations increase seven points up to 72.6.
