Question:
- One of your Twitter followers and Instagram followers, they said, I have 40,000 Instagram followers, zero sales. They said, What am I doing wrong?
My 2 cents:
- I think my guess is if you have 40,000 Instagram followers and you're selling some sort of product or service or coaching offer, whatever it is, but you're not getting any sales, it's probably because you're too afraid to actually sell.
So Gary V talks this talks about this a lot.
Don't be afraid to post on the other side of it.
You can't be afraid to sell.
My yoga instructor, literally the woman that works with me every single Monday afternoon, it was Tuesdays, now it's Monday.
She has like 20,000 Instagram followers and she asks me, how do I convert more of my subscribers into people to take my online yoga training courses or classes? And I learned that when she has these courses every quarter, these yoga teacher trainings, she posts one Instagram story about it.
Not how this works, right?
People need to see or hear your brand at least five times before they even decide if they're going to purchase or not.
So post more in genuine ways.
Don't just put a link, hey, buy my thing.
Say here are three reasons why I created this.
Here are five reasons why I think you should buy it.
If you check off all three of these boxes below, you're probably a good fit to get value out of this thing, right? Come up with more clever softer ways to promote whatever it is that you're doing.

Marketing isn’t about being the best.
It’s about being first.
Or being the most different.
Or being the most loud in the space.

I think most marketers will still get this wrong going into 2027:
Don't spend 100% of your time on ads.
Spend 50% of your time on ads and 50% of your time optimizing the landing page you are sending people to

We've been in the marketing game for a while, but "hey, we made too many", I see probably six, seven, eight brands a day on Meta using that as their hook. At what point does it just become disingenuous?
My 2 cents:
This is one of my biggest pieces of advice for every company on planet Earth.
Stop copying your competitors.
The whole point of marketing is to stand out.
That's the whole point.
To give people a reason to choose you over your competitors.
Yet every company, we have like 40 active clients on retainer now for our for our ad agency and every company says, go look at with this brand, our our like highest revenue competitor is doing, copy their ads, copy their this, copy their that.
Then you blend in.
And when they're running a sale that says we made too many, now we're at 50% off for a limited time, and you say that, now you're the same as them.
Use your thinking cap or use Claude, but find a way to be different in your sales, in your product names, in your website design.
Even in the colorways of your clothes, if you sell clothes, like whatever it is, do not copy your competitors.
We did $12k in ad sales this week
& booked 9 calls for our agency, absolutely free.
Build your list people.

Question:
A lot of B2B marketers rely on LinkedIn ads for like enterprise pipeline, but founders, you know, we tell them that ninety percent of their ad budget should be on Meta and Google.
Why is LinkedIn ad like why do they underperform? is there a secret to getting LinkedIn ads to work?
My 2 cents:
Yes, there is a secret to getting LinkedIn ads to work.
And it's retargeting.
When people land on your website, the next time they open up LinkedIn, they should see an ad... Ideally, a testimonial ad, like a video of some of your customers talking and saying how awesome you are.
That is by far and away the best way to make LinkedIn ads work from my experience.
Prospecting ads can work, but it's so darn expensive and the creative has to be so unique and stand out in the LinkedIn feed that it's really hard to get any sort of ROI, any sort of value from prospecting campaigns on LinkedIn.
Now, there are anomalies, there are brands I've met with who are crushing it on LinkedIn, but it's way better off if you're just starting to do a retargeting ad and stick to meta.
If you scrape your target audience from LinkedIn Sales Navigator or any other platform upload it to Meta and run ads from them, you'll find a lot more success.

Greatest of ALL time?
That's what some people might call me...
... at Google Ads for B2B. This is for a new client who spent $100,000 on G ads with ZERO qualified leads to show for it, before we took over!
Btw, this is on a $5k/mo budget, in the first 45 days:
