🎙️ dear, internet.
episode 005 — outgrowing people
welcome back to our little corner of the internet. 🤍
have you ever looked at someone you used to be so close with and wondered how you became strangers?
no big fight. no dramatic goodbye. just two people who slowly stopped being part of each other’s everyday lives.
you used to tell each other everything. random updates, little achievements, problems, and even the most unimportant things. talking to them felt natural, like you never had to think twice before sending a message.
but somewhere along the way, things changed.
the conversations became shorter. the updates became less frequent. and the connection that once felt so easy started to feel unfamiliar.
and honestly, that’s one of the saddest parts of growing up.
sometimes, people don’t leave because someone did something wrong. sometimes, you’re simply growing in different directions. your priorities change, your perspectives shift, and the things that once brought you together aren’t enough to keep you close anymore.
of course, it hurts.
you can understand why things changed and still miss how they used to be. you can wish someone well without wanting them back in your life. and you can appreciate the memories without forcing the connection to stay the same.
not every person we meet is meant to stay forever. some people become part of our lives for a season, and even if that season ends, it doesn’t mean the connection was never real.
maybe they were exactly who you needed during a certain chapter of your life. maybe you were that person for them, too.
and maybe it’s okay to let the story end without turning either of you into the villain.
not every ending needs someone to blame. sometimes, people just grow apart.
you can be grateful for what someone meant to you and still accept that your lives no longer fit together the way they used to.
💭 your turn: do you believe people grow apart naturally, or does every relationship need effort to survive?
have you ever lost a friendship without a fight, just because life happened?
let’s talk. 🤍
