october is OCD awareness month. i wish for people to educate themselves on OCD and to understand that it is a debilitating mental health disorder. it isn’t just being organised and clean. OCD has taken years of my life from me and i wish people knew how awful it really is.

I have very severe OCD that has impacted my life in ways I could never have anticipated. It truly is so deeply misunderstood that I didn’t even realize what I was experiencing was OCD until I was already in a mental breakdown state. We DESPERATELY need there to be more awareness

it's so disheartening to see how many people just do not understand ocd and will immediately demonize it, especially the more messy/unpalatable aspects of it, like this is already such a hellish disorder oh my god
